Darn it: Greenhouse gas levels in atmosphere hit new high and temps still refuse to rise

Bummer

(Yahoo News) Surging levels of carbon dioxide sent greenhouse gases in the atmosphere to a new record in 2013, while oceans, which absorb the emissions, have become more acidic than ever, the UN said on Tuesday.

“We know without any doubt that our climate is changing and our weather is becoming more extreme due to human activities such as the burning of fossil fuels,” said Michel Jarraud, the head of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) that released a report on the issue on Tuesday.

And still Warmists won’t give up fossil fuels usage themselves.

“We are running out of time,” he warned.

We’ve been hearing that for decades.

Concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2), methane and nitrous oxide all broke fresh records in 2013, said the report.

Global concentrations of CO2, the main culprit in global warming, soared to 396 parts per million last year, or 142 percent of pre-industrial levels — defined as before 1750.

And yet, by all real world data measurements, there has been no statistically significant warming anywhere between 12 and 26 years. Not happening at surface level, lower atmosphere, sea surface, upper atmosphere, tropics. Until the data is massaged, of course. Warmist computer models are failures.

    Teach,

You typed a whole pack of lies here: “…by all real world data measurements, there has been no statistically significant warming anywhere between 12 and 26 years. Not happening at surface level, lower atmosphere, sea surface, upper atmosphere, tropics. Until the data is massaged, of course. Warmist computer models are failures.”

There is no more “massaged” data than Load Monckton’s beloved RSS data which doesn’t even measure temperature. A computer model massages the radiation data into a replica of actual temperatures. According to the other datasets that Deniers ignore, the surface, lower atmosphere and the oceans are all warming. We’re now living in the warmest decade since human civilizations started to evolve.

The next El Nino will set a new record.

  2. The next El Nino will set a new record.

El Nino’s are a completely natural event, so, that’s kinda my whole point. The debate is not over warming, it is about causation. Warmists proclaim that all warming is mostly/solely caused by Mankind (yet won’t change their own lives), Skeptics say it is mostly/solely due to nature.

Glad to see you are finally starting to realize that warming is mostly/solely natural, Jeff.

    Teach,

El Ninos and La Ninas redistribute heat, but do not generate heat. Where do you think the additional heat that the ocean adds to the atmosphere comes from?

Based on the evidence, most of the increased warming comes from CO2 added to the atmosphere, trapping the Sun’s heat where it warms the oceans, land, atmosphere and melts ice sheets.

You type: “The debate is not over warming, it is about causation.”, yet you claim it is not warming. And all the evidence points to a primary cause: atmospheric CO2.
