Debbie Downer: Dems Are Going To Like Totally Run On Obamacare!

In all fairness, you wouldn’t expect her to say “I expect most Democrats, especially those Senators who are vulnerable, to run as far from this legislation as they can”

(Red Alert Politics) Obamacare is going to be an asset for Democrats in the 2014 midterm elections, according to Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.).

The Florida Democrat appeared on CNN‘s State of the Union on Sunday, where host Candy Crowley questioned the Congresswoman about how the Affordable Care Act influenced the gubernatorial election in Virginia.

“I think, actually Candy, that Democratic candidates will be able to run on Obamacare as an advantage, leading into the 2014 election,” she closed.

I really hope Democrats do run on it, it would make the GOPs job easier. Though I expect they won’t, and will have some cute changing the topic type talking points readily available when we get into the 2014 silly season.

BTW, people are talking about the GOP offering an Obamacare fix, re. the “If you like your plan you can keep it” legislation. It’s not so much a fix as a partial repeal, at least of the rules which were devised by Team Obama and HHS. I still think they shouldn’t have offered anything to fix the mess at all, but, politics is what it is, and the GOP has to be seen as Doing Something, plus it would put Democrats on the hook with their vote.

The Lonely Conservative points out: “Oh, and many of those who lost their policies live in swing states where Senate Democrats are up for election.” One would be Kay Hagan here in my home state of North Carolina (also known as The Best Carolina). The local news outlets are doing all the can to either avoid mentioning her support of the ACA or protecting her.

I HATE this idea that the GOP needs to be seen doing “something”. That’s the problem with big gov’t types.. they always have to be doing “something”.. something more.. something else, something something something.

LEAVE US THE HELL ALONE!!! Your “fixes” are always breaking things or taking away our liberties.

GOP needs to be far away from this as possible. Leave it alone. If they try and fix it, then they’ll be on the hook for trying to “make it better”. “Can’t we try and help America instead of ….”
    BLAH BLEH FRAAKK

If the GOP can learn to say “NO” they can bash the Dems upside the head with this next year. But if they try and heal this analrape, then it blunts all criticisms.

But then, the GOP never really had spines.

I say, bring it on, I hope they run on it. And I hope that Debbie Whathisname Shultz is the first (but certainly not the last) to get voted out while doing so!!!

Well, I’m gonna play Debbie Downer here. As I’ve grown more pessimistic with each election cycle.

I do not see this harming Dems. Recall, a majority of people voted for these Dems twice knowing what they would be getting. They knew that this would replace their existing plans. They were at least told. Whether they believed the Dems lies and ignored the truth that was out there…… prolly so.

But, recall, there are still so very many millions of NON-information voters that can’t care less what happens until election day.

And many millions more that WANT socialism. They WANT free stuff. And, more importantly, they WANT to hurt someone else. Like J on this blog. He feels so guilty about his life that he blames others. He wants to take what someone else worked hard for so he doesn’t have to.

The only way this disaster helps the GOP:
    1) the GOP does not help the Dems fix this mess
    2) the GOP attacks the Dems with it in ads (which they really did not do with Romney)
    3) they force the employer mandate to start
    4) the GOP refuses to allow more funding for Medi* programs
    5) the GOP uses the increased budget and its costs to individuals in ads
    6) the GOP becomes anti-subsidization on all levels and shows how subsidies and handouts harm everyone, not fair, and leads to cronyism and fraud

    7) they GOP puts a plan that in effect repeals OCare while at same time introduces some of the fixes that Ocare put in, reduces corruption and waste in Medi*, and allows many of the things conservatives have been crying for in open commerce.
    8) the GOP then goes out for MONTHS and teaches the people why their plan will save America.
