There are some days I’m not sure which is less tolerant: the Reality Based Community or the Religion of Peace. Today is for the RoP.
A raunchy Lebanese singer is causing controversy in Bahrain, where she is due to perform for the first time.
All but one of the members of the Gulf kingdom’s Islamist-dominated parliament have approved a motion urging the government to ban Haifa Wehbe’s show.
They objected on the grounds that the pop superstar’s performance would be sexually provocative, violating Islamic conventions and Bahrain’s traditions.
Why is she “raunchy?”
Ms Wehbe’s reputation for revealing clothes and sexy performances have not endeared her to Bahrain’s Islamist-dominated parliament.
But she did well in a list of the most desirable women compiled by the website, AskMen.com, and she has featured in People Magazine’s most beautiful list.
Glad to see that the BBC is not taking sides or anything by calling her raunchy. I wonder how many of them read Page 3? And, no offense, the Brits are the folks who brought us, thankfully!!!!!!, Benny Hill. Kinda funny that the BBC goes all prudish.
I suspect that our progressive friends would, if they ever read anything about the RoP, blame the West, and in particular the U.S.A., for promoting this lascivious behavior, rather then blaming the RoP. You see the disconnect, right?
I’ve checked Google Images, with safe search off, and, other then a few obvious photoshops, not seeing anything “raunchy,” except by maybe 1632 standards. Most stuff is rather, well, boring. Of course, to those who want their women covered from head to toe….
