Beer Monday: Biofuels Bad?

Happy Monday! The start of the work week. Time to get busy, productive, shift some paradigms, think outside the box. How about a beer?

If you really want to get busy, and you are in the New York city or D.C. areas, see Michelle Malkin about joining the protests against Ahmanutjob. However, do not use biofuels to get there. Why?

A renewable energy source designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is contributing more to global warming than fossil fuels, a study suggests.

Measurements of emissions from the burning of biofuels derived from rapeseed and maize have been found to produce more greenhouse gas emissions than they save.

Woops! For those who don’t know, maize is just another word for corn.

Rapeseed and maize biodiesels were calculated to produce up to 70 per cent and 50 per cent more greenhouse gases respectively than fossil fuels. The concerns were raised over the levels of emissions of nitrous oxide, which is 296 times more powerful as a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide.

But how can that be? Biofuels were going to be the life savers of the planet, stopping that pesky global warming that only Mankind causes.

On the bright side, perhaps this will finally break through the climahysterics thought that only CO2 produced by man can be a greenhouse gas. They never seem to want to listen or believe that other gasses, such as nitrous oxide and methane, can be big causes, particularly since methane tends to be produced naturally.

On the down side, if the climahysterics get a hold of this, your trips to the dentist might get a bit more painful when they ban NO2.
