Ban Ki-Moon Says Excercise Caution In Iraq Surrender

He’s not doing much to clean up that organized crime agency known as the United Nations, but, at least the guy understands some part of reality

NEW YORK — U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon urged U.S. policy-makers yesterday to exercise "great caution" in considering any rapid withdrawal of U.S. military forces from Iraq.

"It is not my place to inject myself into this discussion taking place between the American people, government and Congress," said Mr. Ban, who was expected to repeat the message during meetings on Capitol Hill today.

"But I’d like to tell you that a great caution should be taken for the sake of the Iraqi people," he said at a U.N. press conference. "Any abrupt withdrawal or decision may lead to a further deterioration."

Actually, as the UN Sec General, it kinda is his place, especially as the UN wants to be involved, and they are part of the reason that Saddam did not comply with the 12 years of sanctions. They are the ones who administered the largest crime scheme in history, Oil For Food. They are the ones that looked the other way while Saddam bought banned goods from three Security Council members. And so many other issues, as well as the Resolutions they passed, including 1441, which authorized force if Saddam failed to comply. Of course, Ki-moon wasn’t in charge then. But, it is his baby now.

He is right on withdrawal, though. Even the "legislation" the House and Senate debate are dangerous, and simply give those forces, both Iraqi and foreign, who are fighting in Iraq the impetus to continue. If Iraq is lost, history will put the blames squarely at the feet of the Democrats. Of course, they do not care what the loss in Vietnam did to our country for years, nor do they care about the mass killings that occured after they forced a "withdrawal." And they won’t care if we lose Iraq, and mass slaughter occurs. They seem to vacilite between not caring and ignoring the issue.

"I hated the Iraq war, [but] a hasty withdrawal would be dangerous for Iraq, for the region and for U.S. interests," International Crisis Group analyst Joost Hiltermann said in Washington yesterday. He argued in favor of a regional approach to Iraq’s problems.

Several Arab diplomats and leaders of relief agencies also have warned that Iraq would devolve into chaos with massive casualties if the American troops left too soon.

And Democrats say Bush doesn’t listen? Will Democrats listen to reason and reality, rather then BDS related politics?

This is the situation for America, the war against Islamic terror, and the world situation. The United States of America is safer today than we were previously. The U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon says it may not be a good idea…
