Thursday Linkfest: Pardon The Border Agents

This is just plain sickening, if true

World Net Daily’s Jerome Corsi — author of the best-seller “Unfit For Command” — is reporting that the Mexican government was directly involved in the initation of the investigation against Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean which led to their arrest, conviction and imprisonment.

Corsi, quoting members of Congress and sourcing Hill staffers, reports that Department of Homeland Security investigators informed Congress that it was the Mexican Consulate that initiated the events by contacting the U.S. Consulate. WND article here.

In an interview with Grassfire.org's Steve Elliott (see audio above, transcript below), Corsi explained that no action was taken for days following the incident at the border. In fact the agents' actions were considered “normal” and the reporting "acceptable” until Mexico intervened. Says Corsi, “Then on March 4 the request came through from the Mexican Consulate to the U.S. consulate in Mexico demanding an investigation on the basis that the Mexican Consulate was bringing forth Davila and wanted the agents to be punished."

You can read the transcript of the interview at Firesociety.

If true, it is a travesty. The whole issue is a travesty. I have written about it for months, now, and, so far President Bush, despite all the outcry from people, has barely gotten involved. I bet if it was some liberal group clammoring to pardon someone, he would respond more.

So, how can you help?

  1. Fax the White House and other leaders demanding immediate pardon.
  2. Sign the Petition to pardon agents Ramos and Compean (over 325,000 signers)
  3. Call the White House (202-456-111) and your Congressman (202-224-3121).

Visit Congress Merge to find out the contact info for your specific Congress Critters. Take the writing from the petition, change a few words, and send that.

I don't know about you, but I am at the point where I going to stop supporting President Bush at all.
