Give me a break

The CIA’s independent watchdog is investigating fewer than 10 cases where terror suspects may have been mistakenly swept away to foreign countries by the spy agency, a figure lower than published reports but enough to raise some concerns.

Bush has said that these transfers to other countries — with assurances the terror suspects won’t be tortured — are a way to protect the United States and its allies from attack. "That was the charge we have been given," he said in March.

But some operations are being questioned.

The CIA’s inspector general, John Helgerson, is looking into fewer than 10 cases of potentially "erroneous renditions," according to a current intelligence official who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigations are classified. Others in the agency believe it to be much fewer, the official added.

Human rights groups consider the practice of rendition a run-around to avoid the judicial processes that the United States has long championed. Experts with those groups and congressional committees familiar with intelligence programs say errors should be extremely rare because one vivid anecdote can do significant damage.

The article itself doesn’t have the typical hysteria associated with America/Bush hating Leftist reporters, but it does highlight the issue of people not getting the War on Terror. These same folks would, and have, pitched fits when we were attacked. "Why didn’t you do anything?" and "Do Something!" are some of the ridiculous phrases thrown around. We go and "do something" and then they have an issue with this. I still have not been able to find any articles which show that the ACLU had issues with the detainment of Japanese and people of Japanese origin during WWII. Thousands upon thousands were interned. Here we have 10 which may have been done wrongly.

As I drove in to NYC to see Spamalot, and each and every time I fly in and out of Newark Liberty, I reflect on the buildings missing from the skyline. And all the people that died that day. And all the people that the Islamic terrorists wanted to die. As has been said, and show, a half hour later, and they could have gotten the 50K.

We are in a fight. Can they destroy us? If we let them, but, mostly, they can only hurt us occasionally. But hurting the USA can destroy the world economy. And, do we really want to continue to lose our citizens, due to people who use extreme violence based on their religion?

10 people. 10. Mistakes happen. Just ask Ted Kennedy, who still gets a free pass.

And, why aren’t the CIA and the Democrats pitching fits over the release of classified information for an on-going operation from an Intelligence official? Oh, yeah, that’s right. W is Pres. This story is supposed to hurt him. All about the hypocrisy, eh?

Well, yeah, we do kinda have an issue when you go and do the WRONG something, something that doesn’t solve the problem, or makes it worse. We also have an issue with people who do something stupid and then blame their ideolgical enemies for demanding that they “do something.” As if the “do something” crowd somehow managed to deprive our Dear Leaders of their brain cells, free will and moral compass.

MAN UP, BITCHES! If you can’t handle accountability, then make way for someone who can. It’s that simple.
