It’s funny: the Nutroots bashed Bush constantly for his “vacations,” yet loved Silky, a guy with one of the worst, if not the worst, Senate attendance records during his 6 year. There is a reason a liberal North Carolina paper dubbed him Senator Gone.
Because casting votes during the time Edwards was in the Senate was SO important.
His one vote would not have made any difference, the Republicans had a strong working majority. And of course it was in their last year as a majority that they were able to set a record for earmarks 29 billion

John, much of the time he was elected to the Senate, the Dems had majority control. Do you really think it appropriate that an elected official misses a vast amount of votes? Also, he very, very rarely showed up for committee meetings, which is much worse.
