Music Meme

Jess at Life…Or Something Like It tagged me with a Music Meme. Call me crazy, but I like meme’s. It is a nice way (usually, remember the Turd in a Punch Bowl meme) to find out info about people. I promised I would do this last Sunday, but, I got caught up in playing with new photo software, Microsoft Digital Image Pro, so, I apologize immensely, Jess. A golden Pirate Thong for you.

This is definately a labor of love, because, after writing the whole thing up to the point where I tag folks, I hit the close button on IE instead of Windows Media. I hate when that happens.

The last CD I bought was: this should freak y’all out, since it was Amy Grant: Greatest Hits 1986-2004. I love Amy Grant. Lovely lady, great songs, inspirational and upbeat lyrics, great rhythm, heart and soul. Oh, yeah, and one of the sexiest voices in music. So, bite me :)

Song (CD) playing right now: Realistically, I mostly listen to MP3’s, so the song would be Black Sabbath’s N.I.B. The CD/song cued up in my CRV is Robert Plant’s Fate of Nation, and the last track playing is, I believe, is Promised Land.

Five songs that I listen to a lot or that mean alot to me: Toughy. The ones I tend to load in the MP3 player the most:

  • Pink Floyd’s Dogs (really, the whole album, but Dogs is my favorite)
  • Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture (particularly the Chicago Symphony rendition)
  • Jimmy Buffet’s I Wish Lunch Could Last Forever
  • Led Zeppelin’s The Song Remains the Same
  • Jimmy Hendrix’s Voodoo Child (ripping guitar)

Of course, I could add about 10-20 more that always end up on it.

3 I will tag: Hmm, let’s work the American Flag League roll

  1. I don’t think I have ever tagged Basil.
  2. Nor Moe’s Woes (Mwahahahahahaha!)
  3. I’ve tagged oystersnout before, but going to do it again (remember, I’m Sith)

Signeth and Release Thou Records, Evil Kerry!

Image hosting by Photobucket

Return, forgetful John Kerry, and straight redeem
In gentle numbers time it has been 114 days since thou made thy promise;
Signeth thy 180’s, and release all thy records to yon public
If time have any wrinkle graven there;
thouest should bequeeth it on thine public,
And make time’s spoils despised everywhere.
Give thy records to the masses;
So thou prevent’st our scythe and crooked knife.

That’s  called taking liberties with the Bard’s work.

Go here to an old post to read what it is all about. I’ll wait. See that, folks? It wasn’t just about signing, but about releasing all his records. He supposedly did sign them. But will he release them?

The folks at Conservative Friends (whose site was hacked, so the original post is gone) have recommended a Tuesday blogburst. I have sent mine in. Send yours in by going here for the Form 180. Then, email the link to Kerry at this address. He has tried to dodge by changing that email forms web address. Like we wouldn’t find it again. Cass at Villainous Company has an excellent insert for the email. Click on the link.

Furthermore, email Tim Russert, whose interview with Kerry prompted this whole issue. You can email him at MTP@NBC.com. Send it off to other stations, as well, if ye want.

Cao’s Blog is hosting the Blogburst. Here is the link to Cao’s 5/31/05 post. Head over, and let her know if you want to be included. Spread the word. Others blogging:

More from the “Religion of Peace”

Don’t desecrate the Koran or Muslim icons. Cause the Islamofascists are doing just fine themselves.

KARACHI, Pakistan May 31, 2005 — A suicide bomber blew himself up during evening prayers at a Shiite mosque Monday, killing one worshipper and wounding 20. The bomber slipped into the mosque during a gunbattle with police that left another attacker and two officers dead.

Scroll over to the left side and look up Religious Desecration under categories. This is not an isolated incident, and I have only been tracking this since the Newsweak story came out.

And how best for the people to follow this tragedy up?

A crowd outraged by the attack went on a rampage afterward in this southern city, setting fire to cars and shops and killing at least six more people. Police recovered the bodies from a KFC restaurant burned by the mob.

Gee, when there was an issue with crosses being burned in Durham, NC, the local citizens did not riot: the staged a candlelite vigil.

Where’s the MSM?

The Jawa Report has a story that the MSM has seemed to avoid, regarding a former hostage in Iraq being indicted in Romania for conspiracy to kidnap Romanians in Iraq. The rub is that this man,

Mohammed Monaf, is an American citizen. Go read it all.

Rangel is calling for a draft. Again.

Here we go again, Charlie Rangel is calling for a draft:

Rep. Charles Rangel is once again pushing a bill to re-instate the military draft, a year after the effort caused a flurry of campaign-season conflict over the war in Iraq.

Rangel, an anti-war Democrat from Harlem, offered the same measure last year, only to vote against it when Republicans brought the bill to the House.

At the time, GOP leaders were upset over a growing buzz on the Internet that the Bush administration might begin drafting American citizens if Bush won re-election. They blamed Democrats for fueling the speculation in a cynical attempt to win voters to their candidate, John Kerry.

You go, Charlie, mess up the Demoratic Party some more. You have to love the 2nd paragraph, which makes it look like the GOP was bringing up a Bill to reinstate the Draft, when, in fact, the vote was about saying there would NOT be a draft. That is not fully explained in the article.

Of course, the DU’ers are all over this, bringing up Vietnam, chicken hawk, and all their other talking points. I always wonder what history books they have read, since it is obviously unkown to them that the Vietnam War was started by a Democratic Administration (JFK), widened by a Dem admin (LBJ), had the highest casualty counts under a Dem admin (LBJ), caused LBJ to not run for reelection, and left the mess created for a Republican admin (Nixon.) The protests started during, yup, LBJ’s admin. The media declaring that we were losing, especially after Tet? Yup, during LBJ’s admin.

Don’t misunderstand, I am not blaming LBJ for all this, just showing when it occured, and what happened, for perspective. The media is more to blame for creating a negative opinion and the subsequent protests. LBJ did what he could.

I’m sure that the DU’ers will have more harsh words and idiocy for when George "still the President" Bush visits Arlington.

French say NON!

You heard it here first (or almost first: I got it posted before even Drudge):

French voters rejected the European Union‘s first constitution Sunday, early government results showed — a stinging repudiation of the ambitious, decades-long effort to further unite the 25-nation bloc.

With about 83 percent of the votes counted, the referendum was rejected by 57.26 percent of voters, the Interior Ministry said. The treaty was supported by 42.74 percent, the ministry said.

How quick does Chirac blame the British or throw out the results?

More from CNN. Pretty good explanation of why the Referendum went down:

"I voted ‘No’ in all conscience, having read the text, due to the lack of will to solve Europe’s number one problem today, which is unemployment," said Armel Bompart, 52, a civil servant also voting in Strasbourg, home to the European parliament.

"I voted ‘Yes’ because I think Europe is important," Julie Lacour, 21, a student voting in Strasbourg in eastern France, told Reuters. "It’s been 60 years that we’ve been trying to construct Europe. Now we must keep going forward and not go backwards."

So, the one who voted No did it after research and consideration, much like why people voted for "Still the President" Bush. The one who voted Yes did so as a gut feeling with no real facts.
