Say “Bye” To the “International Freedom Center”

And, it’s about time. Take Back the Memorial’s email blast states:

We are very pleased to announce that Governor Pataki has announced the removal of the International Freedom Center (IFC) from Ground Zero. See http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/09/28/AR2005092801849.html for details.

Every since June 8, 2005 when Debra Bulingame’s op-ed, The Great Ground Zero Heist, appeared in the Wall Street Journal, we have fought together for the preservation of the dignity of Ground Zero. With your help, we have achieved a major victory toward that goal.

We will continue to monitor the plans for Ground Zero to ensure that a fitting and proper memorial is built; one that is respectful of the victims murdered that day, their families, the first responders, and the American people.

A press release on the removal of the IFC from the 15 family member groups is expected in the next 24 hours and we will post it @ www.takebackthememorial.org as soon as it becomes available.

Thank you again for your support, prayers, and dedication. We simply could not have done this without you.

Sincerely,

Robert D. Shurbet

Damn good news. The memorial and area should be about 9/11, not the crazy notions that the IFC wanted to discuss. You can read Debra Burlingame’s original editorial here. No need to rehash what she wrote here. She did just fine.

Of course, the New York Times, in there usual way, has completely forgotten to mention why there was controversy. Of course, surely, in there view, there should be some memorial at Ground Zero which tells, among other things, why the USA was at fault, and how evil we are post 9/11. Figures.

Couple Important Thangs

Teach wanted me to pass along a few important thangs to y’all:

Miss Beth at MVRWC has a great post regarding an email she received from and MGySGT serving in Iraq, regarding their great morale. Go read the whole thing. Some great photoshops by the folks serving in Iraq.

Stop The ACLU will be having a weekly Carnival of True Civil Liberties. "Posts must be original material, no crosspost copy and paste stuff. It must be anti-ACLU in nature, or having to do with our civil liberties that are being stripped away via judicial activism." Posts will be due by Friday 9pm, posted on Mondays.

WTW: It’s A Mouse, Run Away!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Hey, y’all, Jebediah here. This made me laugh:

Passengers were buckled up when a crew member spotted a mouse darting across an aisle, triggering a chase that grounded a Qatar Airways plane at Manila airport for more than 12 hours.

The airline asked the 243 passengers to disembark, unloaded hundreds of pieces of luggage and brought the Airbus 330-200 to a hangar for a two-hour fumigation, the Philippine Daily Inquirer and the Philippine Star reported. The rodent was never found, so it either escaped or there’s a dead mouse aboard the plane.

Gee, sounds like they were taking lessons from our airport security folks. Has your bag been in your possession the whole time? Take your shoes off. No lighters. Matches OK. That metal clasp on your bra looks dangerous, WASP granny. I don’t care if you say you have a fake hip, get in the room and strip. Metal zippers? Don’t know if we can allow that. Yes, nervous looking middle eastern appearence men, go right through. We already searched 2 today, that is our limit.

BTW, Teach tells me he forgot to take his lighter out of his backpack to put in his checked baggage. Yes, it got through the scanners in Atlanta. Meanwhile, in Australia:

Image hosted by Photobucket.com Activist from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) with the Australian flag painted on their buttocks and fake blood on other parts of their bodies rally in front of the Australian embassy in a bid to force Australian sheep farmers to stop a controversial farming practice. Full story here. Perhaps they could have painted over the cellulite. PETA wackjobs should learn to 1. exercise, and 2. eat a balanced diet.

Y’all don’t forget to visit the rest of the WTW folks, ya hear?

Kerry Plays the Angry Man. Still No Form 180’s

Boy, John Kerry is angry. His hometown Boston Herald said he played the roll of the “Last Angry Democract yesterday on domestic issues and for a hometown crowd.”

His theme allegedly was “American competitiveness,” but that was merely a pretext for accusing the Bush administration of a “pattern of willful negligence” in its Katrina response. Image hosting by Photobucket

You’d think that a guy who could work himself into such a lather over the president’s “failed” policies would have a host of bright ideas to advance. But with no hint of irony at all, Kerry’s idea is to make America competitive by putting more money into education and health by – are you ready for this? – “not making the tax cuts permanent” for those in upper income brackets. (Yes, it sounded kinda familiar to us too.)

Well, we are angry too. Kerry made a promise to release his Form 180’s

When he signed them, he released a deleted version, and only to 3 newspapers. We want the whole thing, Frency. Funny how Kerry wants ALL of John Roberts records. Would that be irony, or just stupidity? Of course, what with his schedule of slurs at Bush (see beginning), and forgetting to offer any sort of Bills (like that is new!) on the Senate floor, I guess he is too busy to keep his word.

Also, I guess Tim Russert enjoys looking the fool. It was on his show that Kerry promised to sign his 180’s. Make sure you email him!

All you have to do is just sign and release your 180’s in full, John. Not too hard, is it? You made your promise on 1/30/05, 240 days ago. Then again, you make lots of promises you never keep.

Go here to an old post to read what it is all about. I’ll wait. See that, folks? It wasn’t just about signing, but about releasing all his records. He did sign them. But he hasn’t released all his records to the public. He released a deleted version. We want to see the whole thing.

Powerline has visual copies of the 180’s that Kerry reportedly signed. Deleted versions.

The folks at Conservative Friends (whose site was hacked, so the original post is gone) have recommended a Tuesday blogburst. I have sent mine in. Send yours in by going here for the Form 180. Then, email the link to Kerry at this address. He has tried to dodge by changing that email forms web address. Like we wouldn’t find it again. Cass at Villainous Company has an excellent insert for the email. Click on the link.

Furthermore, email Tim Russert, whose interview with Kerry prompted this whole issue. You can email him at MTP@NBC.com. Send it off to other stations, as well, if ye want.

Cao’s Blog is hosting the Blogburst. Here is the link to Cao’s 9/27/05 post. Head over, and let her know if you want to be included. Spread the word. Others blogging:

Did I Miss a Memo?

Or was it a Left only one? Seems that everywhere I go, blogs, news, radio, tv, everyone is mentioning the phrase "echo chamber." Of course, it is somehow being applied to the Right of Center folks. Which tells me that the "idea" folks from the left realize that all they do is regurgitate demoloon talking points, so they want to create the false idea that that is what occurs on the Right.

Cindy Goes To The Pokey

Sounds like the start of a good (?) porno movie, doesn’t it? Of course, the plot is rather blase’, tedious, and tiresome. Much like the activities of the Leftaloons. Like in any porno movie, the real plot always comes out the same. Same cheesy dialogue, same incessant tom foolery.

Cindy Sheehan, the California woman who has used her son’s death in Iraq to spur the anti-war movement, was arrested Monday while protesting outside the White House.

Sheehan and several dozen other protesters sat down on the sidewalk after marching along the pedestrian walkway on Pennsylvania Avenue. Police warned them three times that they were breaking the law by failing to move along, then began making arrests.

Of course, you know that, somehow, according to the leftards, Cindy was in the Right. Breaking the law is A-OK in their book, as long as it is anti-Bush. Perhaps they should read the First Amendment.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

See, if you are doing it whereby you are breaking existing law, which was not designed to prohibit Free Speech, that is not "peaceably."

Sheehan, 48, was the first taken into custody. She stood up and was led to a police vehicle while protesters chanted, "The whole world is watching."

Yes, we are. And we have been watching a lady make a mockery of her son’s death. I’m sure Casey would be real proud. Of course, Cindy doesn’t look like she is really sad, does she?

FYI: if you plan on being arrested, wearing a skirt is probably not the best idea. And, thank God for that policeman’s hand in the way of the beaver shot. Yuck!

Blair Reconsiders Kyoto

Seems as if Tony Blair is finally getting the fact the the Kyoto Protocol just doesn’t work.

"I’m changing my thinking about this in the past two or three years. I think if we are going to get action, we have got to start from the brutal honesty about the politics of how we deal with it," Mr. Blair said.

"The truth is, no country is going to cut its growth or consumption substantially in the light of a long-term environmental problem.

That is the truth. And that is what Kyoto mandated. No wonder the Senate voted overwhelmingly against it in 1999. And neither Clinton nor Bush 43 pushed it.

The Bush administration now agrees that human activity is responsible for global warming, but Mr. Blair’s remarks are likely to shift the focus to the treaty itself.

The treaty imposed severe constraints on industrial nations, especially those outside Western Europe, while imposing no restrictions on big polluters such as China and India.

The treaty was so flawed, said many critics, that if implemented it would have increased global emissions of so-called greenhouse gases more than if there had been no treaty at all.

Mr. Blair predicted that Kyoto, which expires in 2012, would not have a successor treaty, but said the solution to global warming would be to introduce incentives for large-scale energy users to make cutbacks.

Whether you believe in global warming or not, pollution is not in doubt. Rather then being restrictive, why not give some sort of incentives to develop less expensive and easier to implement measures to clean waste? Guess that just wouldn’t make sense to governement.
