Biden Equates Sending Military Weapons To Ukraine With World Peace

No, really

This is the same guy who served as Obama’s VP when Obama sent Putin a Strongly Worded Letter when Putin took Crimea

(Breitbart) President Joe Biden suggested war is peace on Wednesday after he signed legislation to provide Ukraine the funds to conduct a war against Russia.

“It’s a good day for world peace,” Biden claimed about the war funds in the State Dining Room of the White House, echoing George Orwell’s novel “Nineteen Eighty-Four.”

“It’s going to make America safer, it’s going to make the world safer, and it continues America’s leadership in the world, and everyone knows it,” Biden said of the funds.

The Senate passed the foreign aid package on Wednesday. Just minutes after the vote, Biden signed the legislation into law “so we can begin sending weapons and equipment to Ukraine this week.”

This does nothing more than continue war, be it in Ukraine, which has no chance of beating Russia unless they want to go guerilla, like happened in Afghanistan, and allows Israel to continue decimating Hamas, which is a wise expenditure for the U.S. But, still war. And while it does allocate money to Taiwan, the inconsistent yammering of the Biden admin on the nation doesn’t deter China.

I have a simple theory. The left understands if Ukraine falls, they have lost the biggest gravy train in the history of politics for them.

When Obama was in office there were stories going around that over half of his main advisors were in Ukraine making money. Now that a war has happened, instead of the GOP getting rich under the table off of Iraq, its the Dems turn to get money off of Ukraine.

Anyone remember when Donald Rumsfeld took office he said in a presser literally a few days before 911 that there is 4 trillion dollars missing or unaccounted for in the pentagon budget. Where did it go.

Then 911 and no one heard him or cared!

The only reason the USA has not gone totally belly up is because we keep printing money and because the USA is the worlds biggest benefactor. Well. Countries and billionaires and corporations and Hedge funds and Mutual funds like Black rock keep buying up all those bonds to keep their gravy train afloat.

It is why we have 10-12 percent and not 3.5 percent inflation. The elderly need a 15 percent COLA this year or they will sink. They won’t get it because if you raise wages and give large COLA’s, then that fuels inflation MORE.

I hear the FAT LADY tuning up in the green room and anyone who thinks this country can’t tank overnight is deluding themselves. Yes there are things that can be done to stave this off but neither the DEMS or the GOP have the guts to do it.

    Teach equates surrender to peace.
The rightwing of American politics also agreed with Neville Chamberlain to allow Hitler to gobble up the Sudetland and Austria. Assuring Britain of “peace in our time” history dies now not look kindly on that decision
When Sweden begs to join NATO you know that Europe believes that Ukraine is only the first step in his plan.

Giving more money and equipment to Ukraine simply means that they’ll lose the war more slowly, and more Ukrainians, and Russians, will die before it’s over. The only way that Ukraine can win is if the United States and NATO send ground troops and fighter-bomber aircraft and pilots to directly fight the Russians, and that means World War III.

  4. Elwood P. Dowd says:

William Teach Xed (tweeted? musked?): How does giving Ukraine money to continue a war they’re losing contribute to world peace?

Really? If William had been in charge when the British invaded the colonies we’d all be having tea and biscuits each afternoon. We’d be eating baked beans, stewed tomatoes and blood sausage for breakfast! And we’d be driving on the friggin’ wrong side of the road!!

If William had been in charge when the Nazis marched into Poland in 1939 we’d be driving Volkswagens and eating horsemeat sauerbraten!

How does the unprovoked invasion of a sovereign democratic neighbor by the totalitarian Russia contribute to world peace? MAGAts like William grab their ankles any time Russia or Putin are involved!! But why? Why have those under the sway of The Donald become allies of the totalitarian Russia? Is a puzzlement!

Conservatives have always deferred to power; the greater the power, the greater the deference. And nuCons are even more cowardly.

Oddly enough, we didn’t declare war on Germany on September 3, 1939, the way the UK and France did, and once the Third Reich turned west, the UK and France got their candy asses kicked. Had der Führer not gone completely nuts and invaded the USSR, Germany would have won that war. We were sending all sorts of supplies to the UK, and were convoying the supply ships across the Atlantic, and the UK was still just barely hanging on, and France had surrendered.

We didn’t actually go to war until we were attacked first. The Democrats had complete control of Congress in 1939, 1940, and 1941, so it wasn’t those evil Republicans who were stopping us from declaring war on the Third Reich. President Roosevelt never asked for a declaration of war on Germany.

And even after Pearl Harbor, we declared war on Japan, but not Germany. On December 11, 1941, in another stupid move, Germany declared war on the United States.

The Russian invasion did not contribute to world peace, but apparently Mr Dowd thinks like neoconservatives Bill Kristol and Max Boot, who want to see American involvement in every damned war on the planet. Of course, it’s easy for Mr Kristol, who was of age to have served in the latter stages of the war in Vietnam, but, protected by a wealthy father and a high draft lottery number, the Mr Kristol who wants to send other people to fight and die didn’t bother to take that risk on himself; he never enlisted.

Vladimir Putin will die eventually; he’s already 71 years old. And he’s started a war which has really drained the Russian military, even though it has drained the Ukes worse. The cockamamie notion that he’ll order an invasion of other nations if he’s ‘allowed’ to win in Ukraine is silly: the Russian military will take ten years or more to rebuild after this war, even if they eventually win, and won’t be in any position to invade anyone else. Mr Putin will be out of power, and even probably dead in ten more years, and whoever succeeds him, whether less or more aggressive than Mr Putin, will still not be personally invested in the invasion of Ukraine, and able to look at things more soberly.

Conservatives have always deferred to power; the greater the power, the greater the deference. And nuCons are even more cowardly.

Sadly, the neo-conservatives loved them some foreign wars, and look what it got them. We invaded and conquered Iraq, and what have we gotten, 21 years later? We didn’t get the Western democracy that the younger President Bush envisioned, but yet another Arab authoritarian state:

Iraq has a score of 3.51 of ten on the 2021 The Economist Democracy Index, which is considered authoritarian. Iraq scored 0.362 on the V-Dem Electoral Democracy Index in 2023, ranking 3rd in the Middle East and 115th worldwide.[3] Numerous wars, corruption, and civil and ethnic conflict in Iraq have made it difficult for a stable democratic government to emerge

We had little choice but to go into Afghanistan to destroy al Qaeda, but we stayed ten f(ornicating) years after al Qaeda was destroyed and Osama bin Laden became fish food, and what did we get? The Taliban who ruled Afghanistan in 2001 still rule Afghanistan.

My older daughter spent time in Afghanistan. She was in very little danger, but it was still time wasted.
