Bud Light Hits Point Of Giving Away Free Beer

Maybe stop calling attention to the problem?

Bud Light offers $15 beer rebates for Fourth of July weekend amid boycott, declining sales

As the Fourth of July weekend rolls in, Bud Light is offering a rebate of up to $15 on purchases of a 15-pack of Budweiser, Bud Light, Budweiser Select or Budweiser Select 55. And in places where a 15-packs sells for less than $15, the beer could be practically free.

Bud Light’s parent company, Anheuser-Busch, offered the same promotion over Memorial Day weekend.

The rebate applies to purchases of up to $15 that are made between June 15 and July 8 and will be offered via a prepaid digital card. Customers can redeem rebates on the Bud Light websiteRules vary by state.

It won’t help.

The company introduced a new television commercial “Easy to Summer,” set to the soundtrack of “Good Times,” the 1979 hit by Chic. Social and digital content will feature famous NFL players like Travis Kelce, George Kittle and Dak Prescott, and Tyler Braden and Seaforth will headline a national summer music tour, the Bud Light Backyard tour.

Really, this means that AB will be losing money on every can that it sells during this promotion. The retailers bought it at wholesale prices. The retailers make their profit. Bud Light is giving a rebate of more than the wholesale price that it got. This is a way for Bud Light to try to get rid of all of the excess inventory of its retailers and itself. Desperation move. The shareholders should be very happy about that. And adding these stars won’t help. And it could hurt them, especially Braden.

(Fox News) Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth declined to say if he would allow Bud Light’s disastrous promotion with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney to happen again, in hindsight, despite ongoing backlash.

“It’s been a challenging few weeks. I think the conversation surrounding Bud Light has moved away from beer, and the conversation has become divisive. And Bud Light really doesn’t belong there. Bud Light should be all about bringing people together. And there’s an impact on the business, and I think that’s publicly covered on Bud Light specifically,” Whitworth said Wednesday on “CBS Mornings.”

This is one of those “between a rock and a hard place” interviews, where he can end up annoying the core consumers and then extreme rainbow alphabet folks (do they buy AB products?). The best thing to have done was lay low and hope it blows over, because all this just keeps it going.

What problems does the US face? Is it Bud Light, “fags”, “trannies”, communism, Hunter Biden, Disney, Sun blocking, defunding DOJ/FBI, forced births, drag shows… or inflation, widening gap between rich and poor, national debt, global warming, broken Russia? The only topic the right gets almost right is immigration – it needs to be fixed.

…and the left get all of them wrong.

And right there Elwood is the reason that nothing gets fixed. You started out with the statement that we don’t get anything right in other words your mind is closed to any suggestions from our side, we’re always wrong you’re always right to shut the fuck up.

I’ve only been commenting here a couple years but I’ve never once heard you admit you were wrong. Obviously you think you’re perfect. It’s impossible to mount a discussion with people who believe only they are right. Especially when they seem to think we’re all stupid, racists and white supremacists.

I’ve been commenting here for years and I have never heard him have anything to say on any topic that diverged from a Democratic party talking points memo. Zero independent thought. So there is never any point reading his comments. He is just going to say the same old things with some party-approved cut-paste from a party-approved source.

I don’t think you are ALL stupid. Delusional maybe.

True, I don’t accept the “argument” that there is a global communist plot to control everyone; a plot that includes Hillary, Biden, NYT, the Pope, global warming, Dems, universities, scientists…

I don’t accept the “argument” that Donald Trump received more votes in 2020 and won GA, MI, AZ, WI, PA. The MAGAt claim that the election wasn’t investigated is false.

As I’ve asked repeatedly: Opinions are opinions, but please point out any factual errors!

What I pointed out is that current Republicans are obsessed with “culture war” issues – “fags”, “trannies”, “grooming”, Bud Light and Hunter but not important issues (except for immigration). Perhaps you really do believe these are important.

I understand that you never wish to discuss specifics of issues and suspect it’s because you do little research. The Perfesser accuses me of just a recitation of Dem/Com/Lib talking points but he knows that’s bullshit.

        Please make an argument!

This assumes “Bud Light” is beer; I disagree.

    • Professor Hale says:

Once again I am missing out on a well-deserved boycott because I don’t buy their products at all.

      No Disney
      No Target
      No Sam Adams
      No Smith and Wesson
and now no AB “beer flavored drink”

      life can be so unfair.

LOL! Anheuser-Busch is hoping that people will be cheap enough to drink free tranny beer rather than pay for good beer.

I’m not a beer drinker, but if I were at an event in which they were giving away Bud Light for free, and there was a decent beer — yes, I know: ‘decent beer’ is a contradiction in terms — I could get if I paid for it, I’d buy the other beer.

The power of advertising made Bud Light the leading seller in the saturated Light/Lite/Watery category. People can drink 6 or 12 light beers in a sitting! Cheap drunk and not too harsh.

Bud Light, Coors Lite, Miller Lite, Mich Ultra, Busch Lite, Natty Lite, Bud 64 etc etc and so forth. “Beer-flavored mineral waters”. Drink up!
