Bud Light Continues Digging, Brings Back “Old” Mascot

Will Rogers once said “If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.” He also had many other great quotes such as “Never miss a good chance to shut up” and “Lettin’ the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier’n puttin’ it back.” Bud Light should read more Will Rogers

Bud Light Brings Back Old Mascot In Desperate Attempt To Win Back Conservatives

Bud Light is apparently dusting off an old advertising mascot amid ongoing backlash stemming from their partnership with a polarizing transgender influencer.

A Twitter profile supposedly belonging to “The Bud Knight” posted a video Monday of the mascot stepping into the frame with a caption saying, “Yeah, I’m thinking I’m back.”

The mascot resembles a typical medieval knight covered in blue armor plates and “BUD LIGHT” plastered across his chest plate. The mascot notably appeared in a 2019 Super Bowl commercial promoting the popular fantasy series Game of Thrones. In the commercial, the mascot engages in and loses a jousting match before a large dragon appears and burns down the venue.

The Bud Knight was a central part of Bud Light’s popular “Dilly Dilly” campaign, which ran from 2017 to 2019. The mascot’s Twitter account last posted in 2021, seemingly signing off for good.

It really didn’t go well

“Is the armor tuck friendly?” popular right-wing commentator Benny Johnson wrote, referring to Target’s LGBT-themed swimwear.

Perhaps if they brought back Spuds MacKenzie? Probably not. The best thing to do is just keep quiet. Don’t try and win anyone back. Just simple ads. And maybe avoid this

    The SOROS plan is unbeatable
Take away their fav TV sport by being yo “woke”, NFL football.
Takeaway their fav beer Bud Light for being too “woke”
Before boycott buy up shares in Mexican brewer Mondelo and make that their new fav also helping to assimilate the new migrants by association
    Brilliant !

  3. Professor Hale says:

    To be fair,
That sponsorship thing was probably locked in months before the boycott and was executed on autopilot. Remember: The whole point of corporate boards supporting Woke events is to redistribute corporate profits to everyone else except stockholders and investors. The left is all about theft. They are always all about theft. The communists never cared about the workers owning the means of production, they simply wanted to take it away from the people who built it and keep it for themselves.

They had plenty of time to withdraw.

      They didn’t.

      Their intent is simple.

Just keep on pissing their customer base off.

Also Supremes strike down NC congressional map that gerrymandered in favor of GOP

    • Dana says:

The Democrats in the Bluegrass State combitched that the GOP gerrymandered the congressional districts following the 2020 census, but Republicans held five of six congressional seats in the previous districts, which were drawn by the Democrats following the 2010 census.

This is the part that the Democrats don’t want to admit. The South was solidly Democratic, back before the Democrats went absolutely bat feces insane, and the congressional and state legislative districts were all drawn by Democrats. When Republicans took control of state legislative chambers in the South, it was by winning in districts drawn by the Democrats! It actually happened a bit later in the Bluegrass State, with Dems controlling the state House of Representatives until the 2016 elections changed things. In the 2020 elections, Republicans won a 75-to-25 supermajority in the House, in the districts drawn by Democrats!

Democrats all across the nation have effectively gerrymandered themselves, because they are so heavily concentrated in urban areas. Redistricting rules state that districts should be as compact as possible, and split localities as infrequently as possible. Those rules are going to pack urban residents into urban districts, which leaves them in fewer districts.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

The laudable Mr Dana: The South was solidly Democratic, back before the Democrats went absolutely bat feces insane

If by batshit crazy you mean supporting civil rights you are correct. In fairness, the Dems were also becoming more liberal on taxes and “values” which in addition to civil rights for blacks and women alienated the “Southern man”. Southern Democratic segregationists objected to Truman’s civil rights platform and formed the Dixiecrat Party in 1948. Gov Strom Thurmond (D-SC) was their leader. He switched to the Republican Party in 1964.

One problem Bud Light faces is the 50 light/lite/watery beers that are as good or better, including Modelo Especial!!

Of course, another is that their customers think Kid Rock and Ted Nugent are talented and wise, LOL. Be men for once and have a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, then a Goose Island IPA and a Speedway Imperial Stout for dessert.

    • L'Roy White says:

Yeah. Be men for once and have a glass of bourbon. Beer is for white boys.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

This white boy drinks whisky, too, you old racist you. You don’t seem to like white or black folks, do you?

Charred white oak barrels from the Missouri Ozarks are famous for making bourbons! Copper Run Distillery just north of Branson MO distills bourbon, single malts and even specialty whiskies like ryes, “moonshines” etc. I’ll be there in August and may have them start a half-barrel of rye whisky for me!

A friend of mine, a farmer in SE MO, and I sit and drink whisky a few times a year. Good times. Lately it’s been Canadian or Scotch.

Whisky’s too rough, champagne costs too much, vodka puts my mouth in gear,
This little refrain is to help me explain, as a matter of fact, I like beer.

Knight, smight. Bud Light is the official beer of Alkies.

  9. Jl says:

“Man caught drinking Bud Light insists he’s not gay…”. Sure, sure…

  10. Jl says:

Yes, as the South has gone Republican, the less racist it has become. Funny how that works..

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

As America has gone liberal, the less racist it has become. Funny how that works.

In fact, what conservatives called “political correctness”, and now call “woke” was/is the response of decent America to the excesses of racism and otherism from conservatives.

We understand the desire of today’s nuCons to conflate political party with conservatism/liberalism. As the astute Mr Dana pointed out, the Republicans took on the mantle of Southern racism when the Dems left it behind. And now as the nuGOP is descending more deeply into batshit insanity, any GOPher not a full supporter of their insanity (MAGAtism) is a RINO, soon to be run out of the party, like Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger.

      • Jl says:

So in other words, as the South has gone more Republican, the less racist it has become, as said.

“To the excesses of racism from conservatives..” And what racism might that be, J? Good luck!

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

So in other words, the Earth has warmed as the CO2 concentration has increased, as said.

Conservative racism? KKK, slavery, Jim Crow, redlining, separate but equal, etc

          Conservative otherism? LGBTQ persecution, Islamophobia
