If gas guzzlers disappeared from US car lots by 2035 and were replaced by zero-emissions vehicles – essentially, electric cars, trucks and SUVs – the nation would see 89,300 fewer premature deaths by 2050, according to a new report from the American Lung Association. But the country would also have to move more toward clean noncombustion electricity – like wind, solar, hydro, geothermal and nuclear – to see the full health benefit.
The report, published Wednesday, says that people in the US would have 2.2 million fewer asthma attacks and 10.7 million fewer lost workdays, and the country would net $978 billion in public health benefits with the move to cleaner vehicles and a cleaner power supply.
“There are very clear benefits of zero-emission technologies,” said report author William Barrett, national senior director for clean air advocacy for the American Lung Association.
The few studies cited are internal and do not do much than extrapolate what they think might maybe possibly happen, especially using computer models that are garbage in garbage out, citing previous garbage studies that always give them the answer they want. It’s a garbage study using shoddy scientific methods and made up data. But, hey, why not have all Warmists give their fossil fueled vehicles up?
Say, I wonder how many will die and how much pollution will be released from all the necessary mining? And how quick the grid will melt down? Of course, not all the vehicles will be replaced, because they will be unaffordable to the working class and much of the middle class.
And how many people would die prematurely because the electric power generation capacity couldn’t keep their houses heated in the winter or cooled during the summer?
Proof that when we read the ridiculous numbers thrown about by our local leftists they all pull shit out of thin air.
Then they wonder why we don’t believe a word they say. Thousands of “statistics” and hundreds of unrealized “predictions” about the earth, environment and climate and the “catastrophic” affects everything from cars to cow farts and the only people that buy this crap are the same dummies who believe men can become women, White people are evil and biden got 81 million votes, IOW brain damaged communists.

They allude to fewer deaths but forget that on average EVs weigh more than traditional cars. Physics is physics….

If alive I will be over 100 years old. Probably more important will be having self driving cars. Who here expects to beprrsonalky driving in another 37 years and how old will you be?

Renewable electric energy has been growing and will continue to grow at the expense of fossil fuel use. Solar efficiency and electric storage will continue to improve.”Americans don’t want EVs” has proven to be false as the Tesla Mod Y was the largest selling passenger car model in the USA last quarter.
“EVs are too dang expensive” the Tesla Mod 3 price begins at $35000 (without tax incentives) much less than the $48000 average price of a new car
So Johnny-if they’re so good why are mandates needed to buy them? Any time with that or the “trillions in permanent cuts for the elites” would be nice…
The electrical generating and distribution infrastructure to accomplish the stated goal absolutely cannot be constructed by 2035.
None of these geniuses seems to consider agriculture, commodity transportation, construction, military, and emergency services that are presently heavily dependent on conventional power. Nor the current inadequacy of the electric grid, etc. Adequately addressing these issues by 2035 probably isn’t feasible in the current climate. Not to mention the issue that focusing all attention to this cockamamie scheme would leave us quite vulnerable to such nice folks as the Chinese to simply walk in and take absolute control.
These kind of spurious health claims are usually nothing but propaganda based upon unrealistic assumptions.
