Happy Sunday! Another gorgeous day in the Once And Future Nation of America. A little bit of drizzle, the new fish in the tank are doing well, and finally finished watching Fringe (which I had only see the last 2 seasons when it was on). This pinup is by Peter Driben, with a wee bit of help.

    It was no hit piece on Casey DeSantis. Read it for yourselves.

    For some time now she’s been seen mostly and by many as an absolute superstar of a political spouse, a not so “secret weapon,” even something like his saving grace — an antidote for her sometimes awkward husband, social in a way that he is not, charismatic in a way that he is not, generally and seemingly at ease in the spotlight in a way that he so often and so evidently is not. A telegenic former television personality, a breast cancer survivor and a mother of three young kids, Casey, 42, has a sort of policy portfolio of her own that ranges from hurricane recovery to issues of mental health. In the DeSantis political project, she is unusually important and uncommonly involved, according to hundreds of interviews over the last few years and more than 60 more over the last few weeks — an array of former staffers, current supporters and donors, state and federal lawmakers and Florida lobbyists and political professionals.

    Casey DeSantis is lovely, intelligent, knowledgeable, comfortable in public and telegenic, a mother of 3 and a cancer survivor. She’s a superstar of a political spouse not seen since Michelle Obama. Did the right-wing noise machine ever run hit pieces on Mrs Clinton, Mrs Obama or Mrs Biden, LOL? If Mrs DeSantis is also the most important advisor to the Governor she should expect serious queries.
