Who’s Up For A Lecture On ‘Climate Change’ While Getting A Haircut?

To be honest, I don’t want to talk about anything while getting a haircut. Just get it done?

This hairdresser gives lessons on how to discuss climate change with clients

As the effects of climate change have become more serious, many people without much political or financial influence have asked themselves what they can do to address the situation.

Paloma Rose Garcia, who owns a hair salon in Sydney, Australia, was one such person. What she discovered was that merely talking about global warming with customers could have a positive effect — and that realization has led her to create climate change education and communication workshops for others in her profession.

“As I was on my own personal journey with climate and understanding more about climate change and the effects that it’s having all around us, it just became a conversation that came up with guests,” Garcia told What On Earth host Laura Lynch.

You know one thing I really loathe? This whole “journey” thing. People keep using it, it shows up in commercials, and it’s just very, very silly. Perhaps it’s just me

“It can start off as something very small. It’s as simple as, ‘Oh my god, isn’t this weather just crazy? It’s really sad to see the effects of climate change.’ It’s a simple little comment or remark like that that can turn into a bigger conversation,” Garcia said.

My response would be “so, what kind of car do you drive? Oh, it’s a fossil fueled one? Huh.” And that tip would be going way down

As a member of Sustainable Salons Australia, she’s making every effort to minimize her salon’s footprint, which includes reducing water consumption and using a power supplier that provides emissions-free electricity.

Her positive interactions with customers spurred her to encourage the hairdressers employed in her salon to have similar conversations. Since then, she’s run three climate workshops, with hundreds of hairdressers.

Obviously, the reporter failed to delve deep into how much that carbon footprint has come down, what she and the others are actually doing, and if they’ve given up their own use of fossil fuels.

    Latest internal polling update.

GOP 235. Dems 203 in the House.

GOP 53. Dems 47 in the Senate. It is looking more and more like the GOP will win PA, WI, NV, and GA.

The GOP will add 2 more governorships to their tally increasing the odds of winning in 2024 as governorships of swing states are so important in presidential races.

Down ballot races look favorable to the GOP but again the GOP must show up. Independents are leaning GOP by about 7 points. If the GOP does not show up for OZ in PA then what’s the point? A McConnell Rino in the senate is better than someone to the left of Bernie Sanders.

Do not let the polling keep you from voting. Fox News replaced Stirewalt who was a Democrat and did their polling with another democratic polling firm. Their polls are not any more reliable today than the rest of the election Mafia and in fact, there are signs the MSM is starting to turn themselves around and question Democrats. Keep the pressure on up North there in the USA. The world is depending on your sanity to keep the rest of us from killing ourselves.

I will echo Ben Shapiro who voted for Trump in 2020 and said he would vote for him again IF he runs in 2024.

In 2016 Trump took the bullets for you. He fought the good fight. Exposed corruption.

However, after the 2020 election, he is now asking YOU to take the bullet for him by continuing to obsess over the 2020 election. You have fought bravely. Forced many states to enact new legislation making elections more transparent. Every state has looked at its voting procedures. More and more GOP are showing up to be poll watchers.

You won that battle. Time to move on from 2020 and focus on 2022 and beyond. Vote. Get your friends to vote and their friends. Bill Gates believes Civil War will break out over the 2022 Election. Do not let that happen. The countries of the world not named CHINA and a few others beseech you.

        Amen, 1950.
I have developed a concept that I attempt to get others to utilize. Vote for a candidate or vote against the other candidate, but VOTE. I voted against Hillary in 2016 [even Satan would have been preferable] and for Trump in 2020. In 2022, I’m voting against all democrats even if it means getting a Rino (re)elected. 2024 will probably be similar, too far out to tell. Use the primaries to winnow out the slimy Rinos.

I just saw where VP Harris stated the feds are using racial discrimination to determine who gets hurricane aid. Now that’s what I would call systemic racism. Naturally its being proposed by the greatest racists since the nazis: American democrats. American history repeats itself only this time the democrats are targeting whites.

I’m mostly deaf, and wearing hearing aids when getting a haircut is a really, really stupid thing. So, if my barber wanted to give me a lecture on global warming climate change emergency, I wouldn’t hear it anyway.

Of course, in this deep, deep red county — President Trump got 77.98% to just 20.72% for the dummkopf from Delaware — he wouldn’t even if I could hear. But, he knows that I’m deaf, so he doesn’t bother with the typical small talk in which barbers normally engage.

I always consult a hairdresser before any major decisions because they know everything. If I can’t find a hairdresser a used car salesperson will do in a pinch.

  6. Elwood P. Dowd says:

My hair stylist is brilliant. His insights on politics, science, global warming, education, philosophy, humor and sports are nonpareil! He recognizes that peDon tRump is a threat to American democracy, understands the threat of global warming, is vaccinated against Covid and supports same sex rights. Nice guy too.

    • Dana says:

LOL! I go to a barber, while the socialist from St Louis goes to a “hair stylist.” https://www.thepiratescove.us/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yahoo.gif

      This explains a lot!

    • Jl says:

So in other words your hair stylist doesn’t have any evidence of the “threat” of global warming. He just knows it or feels it…

      • The Liberal but not libertarian Elwood P. Dowd says:

You may need to research the meaning of ‘evidence’, especially with respect to scientific theories.

        • david7134 says:

          jeff
how about you provide some evidence

          • The Liberal but not libertarian Elwood P. Dowd says:

            Fish-belly White,

Do you remember Hurricane Ian? It was in all the papers.

Do you think the Caribbean being warmer is a threat? The good people of Ft Myers would like a word.

          • david7134 says:

            Jeff,
Consider how stupid you appear when you confuse a common weather event with climate change.

          • Elwood P. Dowd says:

            Fish-belly White,

Really? Was Ian a common occurrence? The warming climate warms the oceans, for example the Caribbean, making hurricanes, your “common occurrences”, more severe.

Do you realize how stupid you look denying global warming? What’s next? Election denying? Covid denying? Racism denying?

It’s all a giant conspiracy, The Conspiracy of Everything, where global Dem/Com/Libs are forcing white, Christian, straight patriots to drive electric cars!

        • david7134 says:

          Jeff,
I see you are acting more childish than usual. Have the shareholder suits started, or has GRTX gone below a dollar. Either way, why don’t you play out your emotions elsewhere.

          • Elwood P. Dowd says:

            Fish-belly,

You’re being as stupid as ever. But we’re used to your patois of ignorance.

Why do you never discuss ideas or facts?

  7. Crewcut Elwood P. Dowd says:

LOL!! Joke’s on the Kentucky Kleagle! I’ve been my own stylist for the past 20 years. I thought the Kentucky Kuckold would recognize my description. https://www.thepiratescove.us/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yahoo.gif

    Wow that is impressive.
What is your county’s average highest level of education?

  9. david7134 says:

    Jeff,
I don’t discuss with you as I don’t care for your form of discourse and have zero respect for you and your opinions.

  10. Elwood P. Dowd says:

    Fish-belly the Stalker,

Actually, you’re obsessed with me for some reason! LOL. OK. Fair enough. I’ll ignore your lies and taunts from now on.
