    Teach
    Fontbpreyend to be embarrassed
You link to Gateway Pundit all the time

  2. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Teach acts almost ashamed to link to the Gateway Pundit. He should follow his instincts.

  3. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Perhaps Teach can request the actual transcript between the prosecutor and the Shaman’s lawyer from his mentor, Jim Hoft.

Here’s what was found so far…

Prosecutor Kimberly Paschall also painted as absurd the idea that Chansley thought it was permissible for him to enter the Capitol amid the riot.

“There is absolutely no way he could have thought that police were escorting him into the building when the window was being cracked. … Alarms were going off,” Paschall said. “There is no reasonable interpretation of events where this man could believe it was OK … that he could continue to walk up those steps.”

If released from prison, prosecutors say, there’s no guarantee he won’t recommence violent, anti-government activities. And Paschall said releasing Chansley is too great a risk as long as there are indications people are willing to take violent action to enforce their views that Trump won the election.

“While we can all hope that Jan. 6 was a once-in-a-lifetime event, we can’t rely on that,” she said.

Lamberth issued no immediate ruling on Chansley’s release request. The judge said he wants to review video footage before he issues a decision.

The odious, dishonest jimhoft, whom Teach “rarely” links claimed: PURE MARXISM: Prosecutor Argues Pro-Trump “Shaman” Jacob Chansley Should NOT Be Released Because He Might ‘Push False Claims of Election Fraud” Once Released

    • Jl says:

And what “violence” did he commit?

    • Dana says:

Uhhh, the prosecutor made her case, but there has been no conviction yet.

Nor has Jacob Chansley been accused of any violent acts other than “violent entry,” and even that’s a stretch; he walked through open doors. While it’s true that he might engage in “anti-government activities,” not all anti-government activities are illegal. The demonstrators in the Capitol kerfuffle did damage some stuff, and walked awat with a few pieces of property, but their actions were nothing comparted to the odious black lives matter rioters, whom the esteemed Mr Dowd excuses.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Mr Dana excuses insurrection, mob violence, assaults on law officers, destruction of property etc. This was an attack on the United States of America, even thought the majority of attackers were morons like Chansley.

The DC “demonstrators” became insurrectionists when they broke through the barriers, assaulted Capitol officers and broke windows and their “kerfuffle” was a stupid attempt to overturn a presidential election, in essence to overthrow the US government. The BLM demonstrators, while their violence can’t be excused, were not trying to overthrow America. See the difference?

To simplify, attempting to overthrow the government is a more serious offense than vandalism.

Why do you think the White House was in contact with Proud Boys before the insurrection?

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Chansley was indicted on January 11 by a federal grand jury on two felony charges of interfering with law enforcement during the commission of civil disorder and obstructing a Congressional proceeding, threatening Congressional officials and disorderly conduct. He was also indicted on four misdemeanor counts.

What is Shamanism? It’s a religion whose adherents believe they communicate with spirits through altered states of consciousness, with the objective to direct these spirits or spiritual energies into the physical world, for healing or other purposes.

Since Chansley practices Shamanism, believes QAnonsense and was so convinced that trump won the election that he was driven to attack the US Capitol, could it be reasonable for judge to be reluctant to let him roam free?

        • Dana says:

Perhaps you’ve heard of this before?

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

Mr Chansley has not been accused of harming any person. Are any of the crimes for which Mr Chansley has been indicted normally those for which reasonable bail is denied?

        • Dana says:

          The esteemed Mr Dowd wrote:

Since Chansley practices Shamanism, believes QAnonsense and was so convinced that trump won the election that he was driven to attack the US Capitol, could it be reasonable for judge to be reluctant to let him roam free?

So, you believe that a person indicted for a crime ought to be denied bail based on his religion? Well, then, would it not be just as reasonable for me to say that if a person accused of a crime is a Muslim, he should be denied bail?

  4. Jl says:

Wow-“there’s no evidence that he won’t recommence violent, anti-government activities. Hmm..there’s no evidence anyone released from prison won’t recommence violent activities. “As long as there are indications “people” are willing to take violet actions…”. Other “people” are irrelevant in this case, as it should only be about the person in question

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

A terrorist was arrested inside the US Capitol as part of an insurrectionist attack. If he was a Muslim you’d want him in jail. If he was antifa or BLM you’d want him in jail.

The judge has to decide the potential risk to America of the sad-sack Shaman whose lawyer, goofy Al Watkins, compares him to Forrest Gump.

      • Dana says:

A “terrorist”? The esteemed Mr Dowd thinks that the guy is al Qaeda!

Were he a Muslim, antifa or black lives matter, he would be a greater risk to public safety, a greater risk to commit further crimes, yet those people have all been granted bail if charged and they sought release. The odious Kamala Emhoff tweeted an appeal for people to raise bail money for those cretins, remember?

While a court could reasonably restrict Mr Chansley’s movements upon the granting of bail, it would be pretty unreasonable to deny him bail at all.

      • Jl says:

A man in a costume, unarmed (as were they all), with no evidence of any violent behavior, is a “terrorist” at an “insurrection”?

  5. Dana says:

Why does Mr Dowd want Jacob Chansley denied bail? It’s simple: he wants him jailed, and he knows that the crimes with which he is charged are unlikely to result in convictions, and Mr Chansley has at least a 50% chance of walking away from them a free man. Pretrial detention is quite probably the most time the accused is going to spend locked up.

    • Kye says:

Sorry Dana, once again I disagree. The reason The Elwood wants Jacob Chansley denied bail and kept in jail is because The Elwood believes Jacob Chansley is a Trump supporter. If The Elwood had the power he’d have him executed for treason. That’s how ALL leftists think. Disagree with them, you’re a terrorist, a traitor, a fiend deserving of prison or death. Or haven’t you noticed how every single leftist nation since 1917 imprisoned and murdered their own people. Every. Single. One. America under the illegal Xiden Junta will be no exception.

The trailer for Dear Comrades! Or as I call it The Elwood dream world where all who disagree die!

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

I don’t care one way or the other about the Shaman, but it’s understandable why a judge might hesitate to turn a crazy guy free. A crazy guy who was part of an insurrection against the US.

The Shaman is only slight crazier than The Kye.

Many of the morons who followed the Proud Boy etc leader into attacking the Capitol are just naive schmucks. They’re white, middle class, so they assumed they’d get away with slaps on the wrist. They may yet. Poor Ms Babbitt thought so and paid with her life.
