Exaggerated? UNC Chapel Hill To Require 3 Feet For School Year

Why 3 feet? Could it be that this is, in fact, overblown? Exaggerated? I’m saying it isn’t dangerous, but, things like this make you think that the danger is exaggerated

UNC Chapel Hill says 3 feet is enough space for upcoming semester.

UNC Chapel Hill announced a social distancing policy of 3 feet for the upcoming Fall 2020 semester.

Kristen and Jonathan Knudsen, who have kids attending UNC, said they don’t think that’s enough distance.

“CDC guidance and State of North Carolina and Orange County are all saying 6 feet,” said Knudsen.

The UNC website also said that faculty and students will not be notified if a classmate tests positive for COVID-19.

Even when contact-tracing or alerting students who may have been exposed to COVID-19, UNC’s website said they would not consider students who sat 3 feet apart and wore masks to be ‘close contacts’ – and therefore they would not be considered someone who needs to be traced, alerted or quarantined.

If only WRAL had some reporters who could have asked UNC-CH some pointed questions. News outlets these days aren’t much above casual bloggers and Tweeters. Then there’s this

More Americans, especially Republicans, say coronavirus outbreak exaggerated, poll finds

An increasing share of Americans — especially Republicans — believe the coronavirus pandemic is being overexaggerated and see news about the outbreak with partisan viewpoints, according to a new Pew Research study.

Generally, nearly 64 percent of American adults believe the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and public health organizations get the facts right about COVID-19 “almost all” the time, while 30 percent say the same about the Trump administration.

When pandemic dominated the news cycle in April to late May — just before the death of George Floyd and the nationwide protests that have erupted since — the share of Americans who said the outbreak has been exaggerated grew from 29 percent to 38 percent.

I have no problem with social distancing, no touching (I’ve always hated shaking hands, no idea how dirty people’s are), washing hands (which I’ve always done a lot). Nor lots of measures put in place which keep me distanced from customers. I’ve yet to have a cold or the flu this year (knock on wood). Some people get very sick from Coronavirus. Many have died. But, how many did not really even get as sick as having a cold? Remember when they were talking about 1-2 million U.S. deaths? I guarantee that if the media was deemed non-essential the coverage would have been vastly different. I also bet it disappears the day after the election in November if Biden wins.

1 meter is the accepted distance in Europe and Asia.

England and the US “doubled” it to 6 feet.

  2. Dana says:

Three feet? Any closer than that and you are in someone’s ‘personal space’ anyway.

Wow, the left must be scared shitless that even owning 99% of the media, academia, all the social platforms the major corporations etc. they are going to once again lose to Trump. They’re in the midst of a 21st century Kristallnacht destroying people’s businesses in big blue cities plus yesterday they pulled off a big “book burning” by deplatforming just about anyone right of Antifa from all the web platforms. That includes Stephan Molyneux,Jared Taylor, Radix, The Iconoclast the American Guard. Even President Trump’s reelection campaign is banned as is Trump himself. This is what I’ve been talking about regarding leftists. They are totally against all American Freedoms including speech.

If the Elwoods win our voice will be snuffed out and so will we.

    Trump 2020 Don’t let the NeoNazi’s win.

    AIN’T NO VOTA FRAUD HERE….

    But – but – but–
There is no such thing as voting fraud. And certainly not mail-in voting fraud, which is what happened here.

New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal filed voter fraud charges Thursday against two Paterson city officials who allegedly engaged in a mail-in ballot scheme in connection to a special election in May.

Grewal levelled the charges against Paterson City Councilman Michael Jackson, Councilman-Elect Alex Mendez, and two other men after the Postal Inspection Service warned Grewals office that hundreds of mail-in ballots were found in a Paterson mailbox, InsiderNJ reported Thursday.

Only 13,557 of the 16,747 vote-by-mail ballots in Paterson were counted, a local NBC affiliate in New York reported in May. More than 800 ballots in Paterson were invalidated for appearing in mailboxes tethered together. One mailbox reportedly had hundreds of ballots tied together.

The board of elections disqualified another 2,300 ballots after concluding that the signatures did not match voting records.

****The ballots had been stolen from their intended recipients, and filled out by party hacks.****

One Paterson woman named Romana Javier, after NBC showed her a list of people who allegedly voted on her block, told the channel that she never received a ballot and did not vote. “We did not receive vote-by-mail ballots and thus we did not vote,” she said. “This is corruption. This is fraud.”

Charged. Innocent until proven guilty. Just like trump. Tell Ace the town in NJ is spelled Paterson, not Patterson, and is the home of William Carlos Williams. Also, the report noted that 3,190 votes were not counted (19% of total), not that 20% were fake. Watch the movie, “Paterson”. It’s outstanding.

It was a local election, and they got caught right away.

And Rimjob probably thinks this was just another isolated incident.
Recall he used to rant that there was NO proof of any voter fraud evah.

And vote fraud is still vote fraud.

Paterson is also the birthplace of Colt revolvers.

Same thing. Votes were stolen. You can dance all you want. It’s vote fraud.

Why is it you can be confronted by the truth and a slew of facts and still ignore them? How can one be so willfully blind and self unaware? Why can’t you just say “Seems there may be a voter fraud problem and ALL of us including DEMOCRATS want fair elections so we best look deep into this”? Would that cause you pain?
Do you not want fair elections? I guess a person like you would be just as happy stealing an election as winning one. That’s why your motto is “By any means necessary”.

Trump 2020 They are already preparing to steal this election!!

You found potential fraud in a local election. Yay!

Do YOU want fair elections? Do you favor making voting easier for all Americans?

Do you oppose voter suppression, e.g., purging voter rolls, reducing access to polling places, making voters stand in line for hours to vote etc?

Five years after Shelby County v. Holder, 570 U.S. 529 (2013), nearly 1,000 polling places had been closed in the U.S., with many of the closed polling places in predominantly African-American counties. Research shows that the changing of voter locations and reduction in voting locations can reduce voter turnout. There were also cuts to early voting, purges of voter rolls and imposition of strict voter ID laws.

I also found 1100 convictions, sweetie.

purging voter rolls, reducing access to polling places, making voters stand in line for hours to vote etc?

Yeah, let’s have mail-ins where the only choices are Democrat.

            Sieg Heil!

Purging voter rolls of corpses and people who have moved prevents vote fraud. I have yet to see anybody restricted to polling places except for the New Black Panthers doing it.

And where, exactly, have voters been made stand in line for hours to vote?

As for your “quote”, let’s see a source. If people want to exercise their franchise, they will get there.

Very much like the abortion decision.

It’s not like you have to walk.

          • Kye says:

“Do YOU want fair elections? Do you favor making voting easier for all Americans?”

Of course I want fair elections, don’t you? It doesn’t sound like it. It sounds like you’re spewing the same old disproven talking points without any thought behind what you’re saying. The party has done a great job homogenizing your thinking powers.

And just like I am for fair elections I am against voter suppression (a fully communist term BTW) but purging dead people from the voter rolls isn’t voter suppression. Purging people who moved from the district is not suppression. If they are dead or moved they shouldn’t be voting there anyway so exactly who is being suppressed?

You state (without proof) that “nearly” 1000 polling places have been closed since 2013 and that “many” were in black areas. You don’t state why they were closed and how closing redundant polls is going to suppress anyone. Also when you state “many” were in black areas you are (as usual) making a racial issue since “many” can mean 3 or 999. If 200 were in black areas then the closings were proportional. And if “many” were in black areas (which for some reason you think are more important than white areas) then “most” were in white areas. There is no reason to have as many polling places as restaurants in any given area and if people want to exercise their franchise they will fins a way. Suppression is only in the minds of would-be fraudsters.

There should be no early voting as there is no justification for it and it is a gold mine of fraud. Absentee voting should be carefully monitored for the same obvious reason. Especially when it comes to desperate Democrats. Early and absentee votes always manage to miraculously appear from someone’s trunk.

ID laws go without saying. Only a lying, cheating commie bastard would not want to assure a voters identity and citizenship before allowing him to meddle in our elections.

We who ACTUALLY believe in FREE and FAIR elections call the things you list “The Democrat Margin of Cheat”. It’s been with us since before I was a little boy and watched my father and his Democrat cronies fix an election in Philly to keep the city Democrat. It still is and thanks to the shenanigans like the Black Panthers using clubs to keep whites from voting the Democommie usually wins with 114% of the vote.

But that’s really what you want when you cry “voter suppression” isn’t it? A one party system like all communist/Nazi countries.

Trump 2020 Unless the Democommies manage to steal another one.
