New Scary Prognostication: Seas Will Soon!!!!!!! Rise Faster From ‘Climate Change’

It’s hard to keep the Cult of Climastrology going without constant prognostications of doom. Plus, don’t forget, much of the U.N. released doom starts coming around this time of the year, as the next Conference On The Parties is getting ready to go (in the far flung city of Santiago, Chile), along with other pre-COP events, where tons of Warmists will take long fossil fueled trips

Landmark UN report warns sea levels will rise faster than projected by 2100

Cities from New York to Shanghai could see regular flooding, as sea levels rise faster than previously thought.

Glaciers and ice sheets from the Himalayas to Antarctica are rapidly melting.

And the fisheries that feed millions of people are shrinking.

These are just some of the impacts that emissions of greenhouse gases have already triggered across the planet’s oceans and frozen regions, according to a new landmark report from the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

More than 100 scientists from 36 countries worked on the report — titled the Special Report on the Ocean and Cryosphere in a Changing Climate. It is the last of three special reports from the IPCC following last October’s urgent report that showed the world may only have until 2030 to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees, and August’s report on climate impacts to the planet’s lands.

First, none of those are proof of anthropogenic causation involving “carbon pollution.” Second, they always have these doomy reports, and they never really come to pass, but, that’s never really the point. Rather, they just want to scare people into giving up their money and their freedom. Third, the Earth’s reported temperature has only risen just under 1C since 1850. Even if it makes it to 1.5C, nothing unusual during a Holocene warm period.

This new report paints a full and alarming picture of the rapid thawing happening in frozen regions all across the globe — and how the changes will dramatically alter human civilization in the coming decades.

The findings show that the planet’s warming is accelerating melting in glaciers and ice sheets from Greenland to Antarctica, and that sea levels will likely rise more than previously projected by the end of this century.

Of the major ice sheets, Greenland’s – which has the potential to raise sea levels around 20 feet — is melting the fastest, and lost more than 275 gigatons on average per year between 2006 and 2015. But the even larger Antarctic ice sheet is also shrinking, and its mass loss tripled between 2007 and 2016 compared to the previous ten years.

Because of the growing contributions from Antarctic melting, the authors say sea level rise is now likely to exceed three feet by 2100 if carbon emissions continue to increase.

They’ve been making these prognostications for decades. Remember when they said that NY City would be under water? Neither prediction panned out. Actual data shows that sea level rise is average and not accelerating, and that most of the small area melting in Antarctica is from volcanic activity.

Even if collapse of the Antarctic ice sheet is not imminent, the report says that many of the 680 million people around the world living in low-lying coastal areas will experience annual flooding events by 2050 that used to occur only once a century.

Whoops, they’re trying to weasel out of the scaremongering.

The choices made now are critical to limit the future impacts, and avoid the escalating costs and risks that come with delayed action, the report says.

By choices, they mean lots of taxes and fees, as well as government taking away your liberty, freedom, and choice.

TEACH typed: “First, none of those are proof of anthropogenic causation involving “carbon pollution.” ”

What is TEACH’s hypothesis to explain the rapid warming of Earth?

TEACH typed: “Even if it makes it to 1.5C, nothing unusual during a Holocene warm period.”

That statement is untrue. TEACH says this often but never backs it up with any evidence. 1.5C over a century or so is a significant increase when compared to the temperature record throughout the Holocene.

TEACH and other deniers scare their minions by claiming the transition from fossil fuels will result in “government taking away your liberty, freedom, and choice.” Exaggerate much? How would a tax on carbon pollution do that?

      That statement is untrue.

Here is where one would provide evidence or a citation to refute the statement…

But being a whiny little sissybitch is neither.

      Jeff,
A minor rise in the temp is meaningless. You keep think that increased temps are bad, they are not. Then as others have said, we don’t have to explain everything as often we don’t have all the facts. According to your logic, illness is caused by bad air from swamps, then we discovered bacteria. You have zero evidence of concern for CO2 and absolutely nothing linking CO2 to humans. You whole carbon thing is coming apart, find some other worry.

And thanks to Trump, your push for global communism is over and done. Our only concern will be who follows Trump in 2024. I think the Dems are not going to be here by then.

The crazy and unrealistic prognostications of the leftist supported “climate change’ cult is as preposterous as Fredos claim there are no races.

More than 500 scientists and professionals in climate and related fields have sent a “European Climate Declaration” to the Secretary-General of the United Nations asking for a long-overdue, high-level, open debate on climate change.

Just as 16-year-old Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg addressed the U.N. Climate Action Summit in New York accusing world leaders of robbing her of her future, scientists were begging the United Nations to keep hysteria from obscuring facts.

“Climate science should be less political, while climate policies should be more scientific,” the declaration states. “Scientists should openly address the uncertainties and exaggerations in their predictions of global warming, while politicians should dispassionately count the real benefits as well as the imagined costs of adaptation to global warming, and the real costs as well as the imagined benefits of mitigation.”

The scientists underscored the importance of not rushing into enormously expensive climate action before fully ascertaining the facts.

“There is no statistical evidence that global warming is intensifying hurricanes, floods, droughts and suchlike natural disasters, or making them more frequent,” they declared. “However, CO2-mitigation measures are as damaging as they are costly. For instance, wind turbines kill birds and bats, and palm-oil plantations destroy the biodiversity of the rainforests.”

The signatories of the declaration also insist that public policy must respect scientific and economic realities and not just reflect the most fashionable frenzy of the day.

“There is no climate emergency. Therefore, there is no cause for panic and alarm,” they note. “We strongly oppose the harmful and unrealistic net-zero CO2 policy proposed for 2050.”

“What’s Teach’s hypothesis on why it’s warming”? J, do you understand how science works? There doesn’t have to be an alternate hypothesis, it just has to be shown there’s no proof of causation with the listed events. It would be like a murder trial where you’d have to prove your client no guilty. If you proved him not guilty, would you then have to prove who else did it? Obviously not, you just have to show it wasn’t your client

  4. Jl says:

“1.5 degrees is a significant increase..” Again, if true, so what? It’s what the increase does or doesn’t do that matters.

  5. david7134 says:

    Jeff,
How would a tax on carbon solve a thing. Your ignorance is what fuels your concern and you clearly do not understand a carbon tax of you think it would not have a major effect. But that is only one thing, you really desire global communism.
