Bummer: Democrats Worried Mueller Report They Demanded Will Increase Trump’s Executive Power

Let’s not forget two things. First, Democrats not only had zero issue with Obama expanding his executive powers, his whole pen and phone thing, but they gave him plenty more via legislation such as the Affordable Care Act. Second, Democrats demanded a special prosecutor to investigate Trump World based on fake documents and wishful thinking, so, any blowback is ironic

Dems worry Mueller findings could expand executive power

Democrats are voicing growing concerns that Robert Mueller’s decision to avoid judgment on whether President Trump obstructed justice could engender a long-term expansion of executive powers.

While the debate surrounding Mueller’s investigation has focused almost exclusively on how the findings might affect Trump, Democrats are sounding alarm bells that inaction on the obstruction allegations could usher in a new era of executive impunity — a shift empowering future presidents to flout the law for years to come.

“You are seeing a move toward expanding executive powers,” said Rep. Anthony Brown (D-Md.), who is joining Democratic leaders in calling for the Justice Department to release the full text of the special counsel’s report.

“Congress needs to do more investigation, particularly on the obstruction issue,” he continued. “And our inability to get that [information] simply empowers not only this president, but future presidents, to be bold in their disrespect for the law.”

Just like collusion, there was no obstruction. If Dems had a brain among themselves, they’d just move on. A few want to do that, but there are enough who are hanging on like a 10 year old refusing to give their blankie.

Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) said Mueller, in choosing “to punt” on the obstruction question has likely shifted the balance of powers toward the executive branch — at least in the near term.

“He had the opportunity to make a decision about obstruction, and he chose to punt,” Connolly said.

“And so we — at Mueller’s own hand here — we have seen further accretion of executive power, when he could have helped fortify constraints, checks and balances,” he added. “And I think that’s an almost-tragic missed opportunity, because he pulled his punches.”

This keeps going on and on and on, but, the phrase “hoist on your own petard” comes to mind. Democrats thought they had a way to give rid of Trump due to the TDS of losing to him in 2016, but, never though about the implications if Mueller declared there was no there there. They aren’t concerned about future presidents having power, at least when they are Democrats. They’re worried about Trump doing Trump. They really should have considered the whole thing before going nuts with a manufactured dossier.

Oh, and backing Obama on every executive over-reach during his time in office.

  1. Bill Bear says:

It has now been 16 days since a white supremacist massacred 50 people in New Zealand… and Porter Good has yet to denounce the killer’s actions.

This reveals far more about Porter Good’s character than he might think.

It has now been 96 days since Mule Ears declared he couldn’t indict any of the Trump family… and Whiny The Poo has yet to get over it.

This reveals far more about Whiny’s sanity than she might think.

  2. Bill Bear says:

“Democrats demanded a special prosecutor to investigate Trump World based on fake documents”

Porter Good is lying. The investigation was triggered by the actions of George Papadopoulos, not the Steele dossier.

“Just like collusion, there was no obstruction.”

Speculation. We do not know what the Special Counsel’s report says. We have only the carefully crafted non-summary “summary” provided by Trump’s hand-picked consigliere.

“They really should have considered the whole thing before going nuts with a manufactured dossier.”

    Porter Good repeats his lie.

Unfortunately, repeating the lie does not magically make it into truth — a lesson that Porter Good and his fellow regressives have resisted learning all their lives.

Sometime in 2015, it appears former CIA Director John Brennan established himself as the point man to push for an investigation into the Trump campaign. Using a combination of unofficial foreign intelligence compiled by contacts, colleagues, and associates—primarily from the UK, but also from other Five Eyes members, such as Australia—Brennan then fed this information to the FBI.

Now you know that’s not true.

      Classic Alinsky defined projection.

      All you have is hate.

formwiz says: Now you know that’s not true.

Ah yes, the old “is not!” strategy!

        • formwiz says:

It’s really getting thin out there when she has to resort to old Maxwell Smart rimshots.

  3. Bill Bear says:

“Oh, and backing Obama on every executive over-reach during his time in office.”

Funny how Porter Good calls the actions of a President “executive over-reach” only when said President is black, innit?

    • Kye says:

Said president isn’t black, he’s a half-breed. Half Caucasian American and half African Kenyan.
Now go ahead and call me a racist for correcting your mistake.

      • lilportergoodofraleigh says:

        You’re a proud racist.

You and your ilk are turning this blog into the DailyStormer Lite.

        • formwiz says:

          Which ilk is that?

The one that doesn’t put up with all the lies and demands to buy a lot of nonsense we know isn’t true?

          • lilportergoodofraleigh says:

The racist ilk that populates the comments here. You, The Puppy, david and Kye, mostly.

Trump, the Great and Powerful, has given “men” such as you hope that you may get your white christianist homeland.

      • Bill Bear says:

There is no need for me to point out that Kye is racist. He advertises that fact himself every chance he gets.

    • formwiz says:

I’m sure Teach didn’t like what Woody Wilson, Franklin Roosevelt, or Willie Whitewater did.

      Either.

      Happy?

    • No determination was made in regards to any executive actions by Trump. Work on your reading comprehension Bill.

      • Bill Bear says:

Porter Good’s answer isn’t even relevant to the comment I made. My reading comprehension is fine.

Porter Good’s reading comprehension, however, sucks.

  4. Bill Bear says:

    Exonerated!

  5. StillAlive says:

LOLOLOLOLOLOL……Bill bear is quoting CARTOONS he is so desperate to hate trump.

    • StillAlive says:

He rails against trump for fostering a culture of HATE and yet he is neck dip in hatred of his own and doesn’t even recognize it. Priceless.

      • david7134 says:

They are focused on Trump, best president ever, yet will not look at the obvious crimes of Hillary. Both Jeff and the liar bill cannot understand the fact that Trump did nothing. They also don’t realize that Trump can use all the tools that Obama used against him in the next election.

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

LilJeff has consistently said Trump was exonerated. So what are you talking about?

        • formwiz says:

          They know he’s cool.

But they can’t get past the fact there was no there there.

These are the psychos who will insist on somebody like Spartacus running next year and wuill never understand how he could lose 40+ states.

  6. Elwood P. Dowd says:

    Who wrote it??

“While this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.”

Hint: He was hand-picked by Trump.

    • Kye says:

Okay, one more time for the mentally retarded DemComs: If the president did not commit a crime he cannot be exonerated from committing that crime. One cannot be exonerated from something they did not do. That said, Trump was exonerated. MAGA.

      You guys really hate America.

      • lilportergoodofraleigh says:

As Kye explains it, our greatest President was simultaneously exonerated and not exonerated, you fools.

Yes, Trump the Magnificent is such a powerful man that he alone can distort the space-time continuum.

        • formwiz says:

          Him and Chuck Norris.

        • Kye says:

lilportergoodofraleigh, I never said a word about our Greatest President, my comment as about President Trump. That said, you really don’t get it do you? One must be charged to be exonerated. Trump was never charged with anything, only investigated. And I’ll keep saying he was exonerated as long as it busts your balls! Trump was exonerated even though he was never charged.

          • Bill Bear says:

Kye will continue to expose himself as a raging imbecile by deliberately misusing a word that he admits he is misusing.

Yes, folks, he really is this incredibly stupid.

      • formwiz says:

That’s a mistake. You can’t have it both ways.

Sorry. Cool off and let the cartoon characters ramble.

They will always hang, or, if one prefers, lynch themselves

  7. Liljefferykeeneofst.louis says:

From the very start, Horowitz found his duties throttled by Attorney General Eric Holder, who placed limitations on the inspector general’s right to have unobstructed access to information. Holder used this tactic to delay Horowitz’s investigation of the failed sting operation known as Operation Fast and Furious.

ICYMI we have it. We fought for it. We built it. We made it great.

And you can’t stand it. So you lie.

    That’s what liars do.

    • lilportergoodofraleigh says:

As we said, you white supremacists have been given hope by Trump. You used to be cockroaches hiding in dark basements, now you’re back out in the sunlight.

Are any of the white people down at Galera or SLCOP aware of your racist psychotic rantings?

Maybe they should be made aware of the psycho racist in their midst. Doubt that you would mind since you imply you have no connection.

  10. formwiz says:

We agree. The Epoch Times is the fakest of fake news.

Never having gone near it, I can’t say. In fact, my retort only had to do with something as obvious to the sane world as your statement is to you and all the other cartoon characters that populate your psyche.

    Or psycho.

  11. formwiz says:

Wow. A threat. What exactly will you tell galera and slcop? Where did you get those words?

You like to make up words and facts all the time. Perhaps you and all your cartoon characters can tell us.

Am I to take it that you’ll stop the harassment if I stop commenting here?

    Is that what you want?

you come here, moron. Why would anyone seek you out?
