Graham, Durbin Introduce Amnesty For Dreamers Act

Lindsay Graham has done some good things in the era of Trump, but, this is not one of them. He’s still on the amnesty bandwagon

(Washington Post) Sens. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.) and Richard J. Durbin (D-Ill.) reintroduced long-stalled legislation Tuesday to create a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children.

The legal status of “dreamers,” as those immigrants are commonly known, has been a major flash point in the immigration policy debate since President Trump rolled back an Obama-era protection from deportation. He was later blocked by a federal appeals court, but dreamers still live with uncertainty. (snip)

“This is a matter of simple American fairness and justice,” Durbin said in a statement.

The Dream Act would allow young adults to stay in the United States if they came to the country as children, graduated high school or obtained a GED, and pursued college, military service or at least three years of employment.

More than 2 million people could be eligible.

In reality, it would end up with more than 2 million, and it would allow those who illegally brought the kids to stay. It also applies to people who are in Temporary Protected Status and Deferred Enforced Departure status to stay, and will have few enforcement and border control methods included. It rewards illegal behavior and entices people to do this in the future.

In other words, more of the same. We need relief from this amnesty crap and an end to ALL immigration for a period of at least five years.

It’s the only tune congress knows. And it’s why Trump won. None of the other republicans running for President would touch this. Republican and democrat “elites” in elected office pretty much agree on unrestricted immigration. The only difference is that Republicans demand concessions that they know they will never get in exchange for their votes to grant amnesty every ten years.

As long as we have an undefended Southern border, it doesn’t really matter what our immigration policy is. The foreigners decide for themselves what our policy is on the ground, one pair of shoes at a time.

I agree, though I think a 20-year moratorium would be better. We should also deport all illegal immigrants, green card holders and H-1B visa holders and their dependents. We’re losing our nation and identity, which seems to be exactly what the Left desires. I’ve given up trying to understand them.

And it also turns out Sen Graham was involved in getting the Steele dossier to the FBI!

  3. Paul Sturrock says:

And, of course, we would never be so cruel
as to deport their parents. Dreamers will end
up being anchor children. How can we
meet the needs of real Americans while these parasites are bleeding us dry?

This is not surprising at all. McCain who paid for it and Graham were joined at the hip and it was not until Trump finally was revealed as the most conservative, conservative in the entire country that Graham changed his tune once his former puppet master in McCain had passed away.

What I mean is no one believed Trump would do what he promised. I have read many accounts where the never trumpers thought he was a con man and once in office would end up being the democrat he was registered to be for years.

Then when the hammer started dropping over and over and Trump did all the things he promised to do including not one but TWO Conservative judges, MOST never trumpers changed their tune, including Glenn Beck who was a never Trumper and even Ben Shapiro who did a video calling Trump a con man and would NEVER fulfill his promises and thats why he would never vote for him.

Most never Trumpers have come to realize Trump is rude, crude and crass and is not in any way a conservative but its not whats in his heart but rather whats in his boots and he is walking the tough path of being a hard core conservative because that is what he promised as a candidate.

It is why he is liked so much by the Right. Most never Trumpers even concede he has been decent and not the Anti-Christ they predicted. They still hate him, but I somehow think they secretely are glad its Trump in the WH instead of HRC or Obama.

    • Professor Hale says:

To be perfectly fair, there is nothing conservative about Trump. Trump is Trump. Not a conservative. Just like Obama was Obama, not a progressive like Hillary. Trump couldn’t care less about losing gracefully as long as he maintained his ideological purity. Trump can’t tell you difference between the Austrian school and the Keynesians. And most Americans couldn’t care less. The immigration issue transcends the Conservative portfolio. Trump recognized that. “conservative” public officials never did. My favorite line is, when all was said and done, Conservatives couldn’t even “conserve” the women’s bathroom.

According the a recent Pew Research poll:

38%: Reducing illegal immigration was top priority
29%: Important, but not top priority
    33%: Not important

38%: Non-white majority will weaken America
46% of whites: non-white majority in America will worsen “American culture”

Overall, Americans are quite pessimistic about the future of America. Deteriorating environment, health care, economy, prestige, world importance, more inequality, poorer education, degraded infrastructure…

    Make America “Meh” Again. MAMA?
