Wendy Davis Attempts To Rebrand Gun Control As A Female Issue

You remember Wendy Davis, right? She’s the one who attempted to filibuster an abortion law in Texas, lost, but was celebrated by the Left for yammering on in pink shoes in order to protect infanticide. She then parlayed that into a run for Texas, in which she again lost. Got smoked! And now she tries this

Wendy Davis: Why Women Shouldn’t Shut Up About Gun Violence
Women are disproportionately affected by guns in America, and now they’re leading the fight for gun control.

…..

Let’s be clear about what’s going on here. These headlines, these senseless killings, are about people using guns to kill people and therefore, this is a “guns situation” (as President Trump denied in reference to the recent shooting at the small church in Sutherland Springs, Texas). And because the majority of mass shooting incidents — at least 54 percent — in the United States involve domestic violence, it’s a “violence against women situation” as well. (And that doesn’t even count the mass shooters who have committed acts of domestic violence in the past and then later go on to shoot and kill people who are not in their domestic circle, as was the case in Sutherland Springs.)

That 54% is a pretty loose statistic. Regardless this is a women situation or something

While gun safety may not seem like a feminist issue at first blush, it doesn’t take too much digging to see that women are uniquely vulnerable to and disproportionately the victims of gun violence. As former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords (herself a survivor of gun violence) has eloquently said: “Dangerous people with guns are a threat to women. Criminals with guns. Abusers with guns. Stalkers with guns. That makes gun violence a women’s issue. For mothers, for families, for me and you.”

What better way to protect women than a gun? Which is why women have been one of the largest groups purchasing firearms the past few years. Because a whistle doesn’t work.

Americans know this. That’s why the majority of Americans support common-sense gun safety measures like universal background checks and a ban on rapid-fire assault weapons. But how will we ever manage to adopt those policy reforms with all those NRA shills in office?

Rapid fire. Like, how fast you can pull the trigger. Which is exactly the same on every semi-automatic  weapon, be it a scary looking “assault rifle” or a .22 handgun. Also, perhaps all the existing laws should be implemented. Regardless, based on the shootings in California, heavy restrictions do not seem to stop nutters

A wise lawmaker once said to me, “Change happens when mama bear gets mad.” Well, in the face of repeated mass shootings around the country and the human carnage left in their wake, mama bear is fire-engine-red mad right now. And she’s not backing down. Women are leading the fight for common sense gun safety reforms across this country – from Moms Demand Action to Gabby Giffords’ Americans for Responsible Solutions to women voting their conscience at the ballot box.

Well, good for them. Why do they want to restrict firearms from being obtained by law abiding women? Let’s jump to the Washington Free Beacon

“While gun safety may not seem like a feminist issue at first blush, it doesn’t take too much digging to see that women are uniquely vulnerable to and disproportionately the victims of gun violence,” Davis argued.

The opposite is true, however; statistics show that men are far more likely than women to be the victims of gun violence.

In 2015, the gun homicide rate for men was 19.3 for every 100,000 Americans, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. By contrast, the rate for women was six times lower, at 3.2 per 100,000 people.

It’s no wonder Wendy was wrong: she was taking stats and stuff from groups who really want to confiscate firearms, not implement policies that would do a lot to stop criminals from obtaining and using them.

TEACH: Yet, white men who like shooting humans in bunches prefer the “modern sporting rifle” LOL. Since they are the same, why do mass shooters prefer the much more expensive “modern sporting rifles” LOL over the more plentiful (and cheaper) traditional deer rifle? Hmmm? Cat got your tongue?

In fact, the “modern sporting rifle” LOL makes it much easier to shoot people in bunches, doesn’t it?

What makes the “modern anti-human rifle” more efficient at shooting people in bunches as compared to the “traditional deer rifle”? Your commenters know the reasons.

    Stop lying, TEACH.

I agree that the AR-15 should be banned. However. With the gun control crowd it becomes a slippery slope. So to give in to just one of their demands then begins an avalanche of more and more until everyone is stuck with a derringer that fires pellets.

Once they have won the gun control issue it will be tasers, shock devices, mace, pepper spray, clubs, knives.

Its the slippery slope argument that prevents me from agreeing with almost any position that gun control advocates stake on this issue. In the EU none of us can have a weapon without the governments approval. They have what is called a transfer control law on both types, limited numbers as well as ammunition.

It began a long time ago as No more weapons from the war to evolve into the police themselves rarely carry weapons finding themselves confronted with armed thugs with clubs and good will.

The slippery slope for both sides of your political isle is why nothing gets done anymore. It is why the right refuses to give in on any one AGW law because 1 will be a thousand in no time.

American men used to be able to support a family on his salary and had a wife at home who took care of his home, his sexual needs, his children and most of his family social interactions. It was the definition of American manhood. Since the 60s and 70s that has largely disappeared – women streamed into the workplace to help support the family, wages plateaued, our interpersonal social networks disintegrated – fewer bowling leagues, fewer family reunions, fewer “men’s” clubs – replaced in the last two decades with online associations. We are left with a cauldron of disaffected young men, steeped in a world of resentment and the promise of an AR15 to reinstate your “man card” (actual Bushmaster ad). Now we have a cauldron of rural disaffected young white men, following on the heels of a cauldron of urban disaffected young Black men – and their solutions are similar – manly guns and drugs to fill the emptiness. The Black men shoot each other with pistols over being “dissed” – the white guys shoot up a neighborhood with an AR15.

And we argue about bump stocks.

I heard a strange statistic the other day. Mass shootings are over in an average of 5 minutes yet the average response time takes 11 minutes for the police just to arrive. Unarmed citizens in an armed country are at a highly disadvantaged state.

On a side note the UK is calling for the arrest of George Soros who donated billions to the open world society of which 235 members of the parliament are members. Farrage is calling upon them to reveal their arrangement with George Soros and the Open society organization which makes the world without borders relevant around the world.

It calls for the open influx of immigration to anywhere by anyone. It also calls for the destruction of the fossil fuel industry which would put the world at war without any energy.

In the after math of the UK investigating this Saudia Arabia has discovered several of its princes are involved in child trafficing sex ring. The same Princes who have given generously to the Clintons and Podesta group.

The reason your AG doesnt want to investigate Clinton is that it will go world wide and threaten to destroy not only left and right politicians but entire governments as well.

The world we live in is sick. There is a world government running the governments of the world and it is why everyone is Obsessed with destroying Donald Trump because his existence as the most powerful leader in the world threatens their existence.

TEACH: Your pictures of the MSR (top pic) and the traditional stock .223 seem not to scale. Why is that?

It’s almost as if someone “shrunk” the lower pic to make the same length as the top pic. Why is that, you think?

Look how much smaller the barrel dia and the trigger guard is on the lower pic.

Are the traditional hunting rifles larger than the “modern sporting rifles”?
