Special Snowflakes Have Hissy Fit Over New Gender Confused Signs At UNC

How important are the Bathrooms Wars? On a list of concerns of Americans, probably pretty low. Much like ‘climate change’. And, yes, illegal immigration. Things like the economy, jobs, and wages tend to rank higher. I’m sure you’re shocked.

Yet, these issues keep cropping up, making it into the news, which tends to avoid exposing just how poor the economy is right now. Also, it’s amusing watching these Special Snowflakes lose their minds

(Heat Street) Student activists at the University of North Carolina are hopping mad over the university’s decision to replace their all-gender-inclusive bathroom signs with more mundane ones that comply with federal guidelines. The new signs, the students complain, are not inclusive enough.

“I think people will look at the new signs and think they look similar because you can still use the bathroom whether you’re male or female in accordance with the new signs. But it blatantly excludes people that don’t conform to gender binaries,” student Regan Buchanan told the Daily Tarheel.

“Our old signs didn’t do that. They were inclusive of all gender identities and expressions,” she said.

A university spokesman tells the student paper that the signs at the Campus Y, described as a “safe space” for transgender students, were replaced as part of an effort to change the signage on 150 gender-neutral and single-stall bathrooms across the campus. The new signs feature universally recognized stick-figure symbols for males and females and are necessary because of the large number of international visitors to campus, the spokesman said.

This is what they are concerned with. The new signs are supposedly “hurtful.” Be afraid that these people will soon be released on the general population. They’ll soon be able to put their taxpayer subsidized degrees to use doing things like….well, who will actually hire them? They are a threat for problems and lawsuits.

Oh, don’t worry: if these Special Snowflakesâ„¢ can be hurt that easily, they’ll all just curl up in little balls and die. The real world is a rough place.

They’ll soon be able to put their taxpayer subsidized degrees to use doing things like….well, who will actually hire them? They are a threat for problems and lawsuits.

The potential lawsuits are a problem, but you’re right: real employers will simply google applicants’ names, and when they discover that Regan Buchanan is concerned with stupid stuff like this, those employers will wish him well on his job search, and hope that he gets hired by one of their competitors.

Of course, Jeffrey will probably hire him . . . .

    dana,

During a hundred job interviews from Fortune 500 countries to tiny startups political leanings have never come up. When searching for a project leader, their opinion on LGBT issues is irrelevant. More important was their ability to work with others and ability to get things done. That said I would not reject them for being a campus activist. It shows moxie!

Yes, of course it is. The trouble is that so many of these Special Snowflakesâ„¢ have demonstrated that they can’t work with others. If an applicant was part of a group which demanded some sort of “safe space” on campus, based on race or ethnicity or gender, how could any business have confidence that such a person could work with others, when the ‘other’ person might be of a race or religion or sex from which the Special Snowflakeâ„¢ once needed to be protected?

I’m not involved in hiring anymore, but if I were, you can bet your bottom euro that I’d never hire anyone who exhibited writings or political leanings or anything else which had ‘lawsuit’ written all over it.

Perhaps it’s our different lines of work. Independence and aggressiveness are valued here. We often have to negotiate with investors, board members, even the FDA… to get done what we strongly believe needs done. I certainly would not discriminate against an applicant who fought for a cause they believed in, even if I disagreed with their cause. I assume they’re not applying here to convert our 4 bathrooms or to proselytize for building a wall to keep out Mexicans.

As I said earlier, politics has never come it in any interview I’ve been in.

You don’t understand. These kids have no intention of working in private for-profit businesses. They don’t want to make money. They want to take power. They want to go to work in the government, where compensation has no relationship to productivity, and use it to reshape American society to what they’re being taught it should look like. Failing that, they’ll go to work for a not-for-profit. Some of those are actual humanitarian concerns, but most of them are lobbying organizations to achieve the same end.

Bu…buh….but what if they were Anti-abortion organizers…..Christian Activists…..KKK leaders. Does that show the moxy your looking for?
