NY Times Totally Worried About GOP Pushing Away Women On Abortion

It goes to show that Democrats think that women are only concerned with abortion, and are simply an interest group to be coddled and patronized

Fear That Debate Could Hurt G.O.P. in Women’s Eyes

After Senator Marco Rubio of Florida insisted at the Republican presidential debate that rape and incest victims should carry pregnancies to term, aides to Hillary Rodham Clinton could barely contain their delight at his unyielding stance, rushing to tell reporters at her headquarters that those remarks would hurt Mr. Rubio with female voters.

When Donald J. Trump chose on Friday to stand by his slights against women during the debate, saying the Fox News journalist Megyn Kelly “behaved very badly” as a moderator — and then promoting a Twitter message calling her a “bimbo” — feminists were not the only ones outraged: the chairwoman of the New Hampshire Republican Party accused Mr. Trump of chauvinism.

OK, so, one Republican. A few others felt Trump was simply being a jerk (such as Red State’s Erick Erickson). Democrats, though, think women are hothouse flowers in need of protection by the big strong men in Government

And in response to multiple male candidates saying they would shut down the federal government over financing for Planned Parenthood, the Democratic National Committee emailed talking points to allies within an hour saying that among the losers at the debate were “American women, who were attacked at every turn.”

In other words, they are vastly concerned that women might have to go elsewhere to get abortions, and that citizen tax money funneled to PP won’t be funneled back to the Democratic Party.

Here’s a big money quote

Democrats were gleeful at the tone of the debate, already imagining future campaign advertisements featuring debate cutaways with Mr. Rubio saying that future Americans will “call us barbarians for murdering millions of babies.”

Read that again. And a third time. Democrats are gleeful over the possibility of running ads against a candidate who is taking a stance against the murder of babies. That’s the moral state of the Democratic Party.

Much of the rest of the article is all about abortion, and Republicans who stand against it. Here’s a cute bit near the end, a complete misread of the undercard debate

When Rick Perry was answering a question about Iran, he said that he would prefer to have “Carly Fiorina over there doing our negotiation than John Kerry,” apparently an insinuation that she would be subordinate to a president.

It was not the first time Ms. Fiorina has been the subject of that kind of backhanded compliment. When asked what woman should be on the $10 bill at a candidates’ forum on Monday, Rick Santorum answered, “Carly is a pretty good choice.”

Did the two male writers of the article, Patrick Healy and Jeremy W. Peters, actually watch the debate? Or, at least, read the transcript? Because, in context, it was a big compliment from Perry to Carly! (since Jeb is going by Jeb!, why can’t we have it as Carly!, because she’s awesome).

As for Santorum, the two writers completely failed, because he said she would be a great choice on the $20 bill, not the $10 bill, due to her great success. Such is the deep research from the NY Times.

All the young millennial mothers, along with the soccer moms must be just thrilled watching the videos of the butcher shop.

I am afraid that I have to agree. The Republicans constant messaging on abortion is a huge turnoff for a large number of conservatives. As a physician, I really resent the government telling us how to provide for women’s health issues. I have seen a number of women die as a consequence of having our hands tied in being able to preform abortions to save the mother, the child died as well. Don’t get me wrong, I have no use for the idiots at Planed Parenthood, they are nuts. But, I do feel strongly that the conservative movement would be better served keeping abortion off the political table. Consider this, Bush was elected in part because he would work to stop abortion, he did nothing other than appoint Roberts and look where that got us. Abortion is out of the box, you are not going to get it back in.

Americans favor abortion rights. Abortion is not murder, obviously.

So yes, Democrats are grateful whenever Republicans pander to reactionary primary voters by attacking women. It’s only one of the reasons that women, Hispanics, Blacks, gays and Jews prefer Democrats. They understand fully well that the Republicans despise them.

There are only two types of Republicans: Billionaires and Suckers. Check your wallet to see which one you are.

  4. Jeffery says:

The GOPers are only guilty of accidentally saying what they all truly believe.

Trump related that Megyn Kelly was a “bimbo” and accused her of being on her menstrual period. I am delighted with him as the Republican candidate.

Rubio believes women impregnated during rape, and little girls impregnated by their fathers or uncles should be forced by the government to have babies.

  5. gitarcarver says:

    Americans favor abortion rights.

In some cases, but not in all cases Jeffery. (And I suspect you know that.)

    Abortion is not murder, obviously.

So if you kill a viable human being in the womb, that is not murder?

There are only two types of Republicans: Billionaires and Suckers.

Thanks Jeffery for showing us again that you are not interested in serious debate and are simply a troll.

  6. Jeffery says:

By all means nominate Repubs that call abortion murder and hypocritically do absolutely nothing to stop MURDER.

Are you going to jail because you are stopping women from aborting their “children”? Or are you content to cry “murder” online?

Do you support the widespread availability of contraception which reduces the need for abortion (murder) or do you think women should just not have sex if they don’t want children?

I suspect you are not really pro-life or pro-child but rather pro-birth.

If the GOP thinks they can win fair elections by excluding women, Blacks, moderates, gays and Hispanics, all I can say is good luck.

  7. gitarcarver says:

By all means nominate Repubs that call abortion murder and hypocritically do absolutely nothing to stop MURDER.

Keep nominating people that are more interested in killing minorities and trying to strip people of their rights. (And by the way, what makes you think that Republicans do nothing to stop murder? It is republicans and conservatives who want people to be able to defend themselves. It is liberals who want to prevent people from defending themselves. Once again, you threw some mud and nothing sticks.)

Are you going to jail because you are stopping women from aborting their “children”? Or are you content to cry “murder” online?

Are you content to call for the murder of children online? It that really what you believe in?

So instead of actually engaging in a discussion, you try to deflect from the points that show your hypocrisy and your intellectual dishonesty.

If the GOP thinks they can win fair elections by excluding women, Blacks, moderates, gays and Hispanics, all I can say is good luck.

Right. Because the Democrats are trying to elect Hillary (a certified liar who is the subject of a criminal probe from a friendly executive branch,) a black man….oh wait…. they aren’t doing that…. a minority ….or wait…. they aren’t doing that either.. Bernie and Biden are old white guys. When you looked at Presidential candidates right now Jeffery, what party has more diversity in those seeking the nomination?

What party is supporting people regardless of their gender and ethnicity?

    Here’s a hint: it ain’t the Democrats.

  8. Jeffery says:

Nice try at changing the subject away from your own obvious hypocrisy.

Like all Dems, progressives and liberals, my objective is that there be no abortions. Not another one. But that means there be no unintended pregnancies.

But right-wing controls do not stop unintended pregnancies, do they? You know what does? Education, stopping rape and incest, access to contraception, ending poverty.

Most abortions (MURDER!) are performed early in a pregnancy – 89% before the 12th week (first trimester) – 63% before the 8th week.

Most fertilized eggs (conceptus/zygote/proembryo) do not implant in the uterine lining and end up being flushed down the toilet. So each year, millions of American women unintentionally kill babies by drowning them in the sewage system.

I do understand that your man-based religious mythology requires you to consider a zygote to be a human being, but yet you ignore millions of unimplanted zygotes that are unceremoniously flushed like feces down the toilet, or tossed into the trash can like a Chinese food carryout box. Are these millions of pre-born humans victims of negligent homicide? Why does god/Allah kill so many more babies than Planned Parenthood? Why no outcry from the pro-birthers?

The legal abortion (MURDER!) rate has dropped to its lowest ever during the Obama presidency – almost half the rate seen during the Reagan presidency. Why are Democrats more effective at reducing abortion (MURDER!) than Repubs?

The pro-birther crowd care little about children once they are born. They care little about children, period. They care a great deal about controlling women. They care a great deal about their religion. Radical Islam is like that too.

  9. Jeffery says:

Are you content to call for the murder of children online? It that really what you believe in?

I work to elect politicians that support the right of women to choose whether to obtain an abortion. I work to elect politicians that support equality of opportunity and education and that support the working classes.

If you really believed that people are murdering children why aren’t you trying with all your being to stop it??

If the government announced they were approving child killing centers to reduce the population by euthanizing Down’s, disabled, or any children, they would find me and my Dem friends armed with our shotguns, rifles and pistols fighting to the death to prevent them from killing even one child. I hope you and all conservatives would join us.

You claim that doctors and mothers are MURDER!NG millions of children and yet you do nothing.

You see, I think you are lying to yourself and others when you call abortion MURDER! Either you don’t believe it yourself or you’re the biggest hypocritical coward extant. Certainly you don’t understand the meaning of the word MURDER! It’s an example of armchair activism practiced by the effete elite hoping to motivate others to do what they don’t have the balls to do themselves.

Did you check your wallet yet?

  10. gitarcarver says:

Nice try at changing the subject away from your own obvious hypocrisy.

There you are, talking to yourself again.

Like all Dems, progressives and liberals, my objective is that there be no abortions.

That’s funny, Jeffery. That really is funny. Dems, progressives and liberals aren’t interested in ending abortions at all and your later statements prove that.

Education, stopping rape and incest, access to contraception, ending poverty.

Well. let’s talk about this for a moment….. are you saying that we are not educating people enough on human sexuality? Abortions? Just where is the education gap because if you go to any school, you won’t see an education gap on the subject there.

Stopping rape and incest has nothing or very little to do with abortions. In fact, many states prohibit doctors from even asking whether the abortion is being performed because of rape or incest. Who promotes those laws? People of your ilk do. Conservatives would like the know who is a victim of incest and rape so the person could be arrested, charged and convicted. You, on the other hand, look to protect people like that. Furthermore, while people like you always talk about abortions in the case of rape and incest, the best figures show that those cases are less than one percent of all abortions performed.

I’ll concede for the time being that abortions in the case of rape and incest should be allowed. Now, are you willing to say that abortions in all other cases should not be allowed?

Why are Democrats more effective at reducing abortion (MURDER!) than Repubs?

They aren’t. While Dems control the White House, most states are Republican and the states with the highest abortion rate are mostly Demoncrat.

I do understand that your man-based religious mythology……

That would be the same religion your wife believes in? The one that you believe is delusional since she is a believer?

The pro-birther crowd care little about children once they are born.

I really think there are times when in your drunken stupor you sit there and think “what stupid ideas can I put forth now?”

The fact of the matter is Jeffery that there are more resources for pregnant woman to help carry the child that are conservative than liberal. There are more private adoption resources and charities run by conservatives than liberals. For people like you, it is “who the hell cares about them?”

I work to elect politicians that support the right of women to choose whether to obtain an abortion.

So you work to elect people who believe in murdering kids. I get it.

I work to elect politicians that support equality of opportunity and education and that support the working classes.

Since when did you change to voting conservative and Republican? When dd you start working to elect Republicans because if that is what you believe, you sure can’t be pushing forth Democrats or liberals.

If the government announced they were approving child killing centers to reduce the population by euthanizing Down’s, disabled, or any children, they would find me and my Dem friends armed with our shotguns, rifles and pistols fighting to the death to prevent them from killing even one child. I hope you and all conservatives would join us.

Except that is what happens now, Jeffery. Kids are aborted every day because they aren’t “perfect. Where are you and your liberal friends now?

You talk a good game but when it comes to following through or doing what you say, you don’t.

Certainly you don’t understand the meaning of the word MURDER!

Really? Murder is the unlawful taking of a life. So technically you might say that abortion is not murder since people of your ilk approve of the killing of children and have made it “lawful.”

However, abortion is still the taking of a life.

So in the end, we all can see that not only have you tried to shift the goalposts, you don’t even support your own beliefs.

  11. Jeffery says:

Thank you for finally admitting that abortion is not MURDER!, which was my original complaint. So, “technically” I was right and you were wrong, lol.

You accuse me of “moving the goalpost” just after you “move the goalpost” – “oh yeah, but, but, abortion isn’t murder but it IS taking of a life, so there!” lol.

The rest is, of course, just more gc circle jerk incitement.

Buh bye, you sad, lonely, little man.
