If All You See…

The blog of the day is The Hockey Schtick, with a post on a new paper regarding warming and the PDO.

Funny how a woman who’s built like a woman, with some flesh on her bones, looks so good.

  2. The Neon Madman says:

Yep, that’s a good looking gal. See, it can be done without using all the aftermarket parts.

    Thanks, Cap’n!

  3. Jeffery says:

    A lovely picture.

Please click the Hockey Schtick link and read what Professor Goddard has to say about the PDO.

Goddard describes the all natural transfer of accumulated heat between the oceans and atmosphere and the impact of that transfer on the atmospheric temperature record. Examine this figure from Goddard showing the transfer of heat to the ocean:

    http://www.nature.com/nclimate/journal/v4/n3/carousel/nclimate2155-f1.jpg

The implications are clear: The sun heats the Earth and this heat is trapped by greenhouse gases and distributes between the oceans and atmosphere – the PDO and ENSO et al draw heat from the atmosphere warming the oceans, and these same NATURAL processes transfer the heat from the oceans to the atmosphere! It’s all NATURAL except for the most important part – the trapping of the sun’s heat by the greenhouse gases we’ve added to the atmosphere. That’s why the oceans and the atmosphere are warming.

    Translation of Jeffery’s comment:

“There is a natural heat transfer which resulted in climate fluctuations in the past which cannot possible account for fluctuations today.”

    Yeah.

    THAT makes sense.

  5. Jeffery says:

    g2,

“There is a natural heat transfer which resulted in climate fluctuations in the past which cannot possible account for fluctuations today.”

I didn’t say that because it’s untrue. Those fluctuations ARE happening today! That’s what I’ve been saying and that’s what the data say. That’s what Dr. Goddard says in her commentary. But that does not change the overall energy input and retention of heat.

I had hoped that you and the likes of you would begin to understand the physics of what’s happening but you either can not or will not.

We have this huge system. The Earth. The sun is about 93,000,000 miles away and the radiation from the sun interacts with the matter of the Earth. Land, ice, water, trees, rooftops, streets, grass, solar panels etc. This radiation is re-radiated as heat to the universe. Our gaseous atmosphere slows that down. The more CO2 and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere the more the radiation loss to the universe is slowed. Thus the huge system is warming. That heat is distributed throughout the system, the oceans, the land, things setting around and the atmosphere. This heat shifts back and forth from the elements of the system, the oceans, the land and the atmosphere. These shifts do not much affect the actual input of the sun’s radiation, which is the source of the warming.

Why did the Hockey Schtick and the Pirate tout this study that concludes the exact opposite of what they thought? Because they knew (well, the Schticker knew) that just using the word NATURAL would set the low-info, right-wing conservapundits atwitter!

    Mission Accomplished!

  6. gitarcarver says:

    I didn’t say that because it’s untrue.

    Whew. Okay.

Then your statement “ It’s all NATURAL except for the most important part – the trapping of the sun’s heat by the greenhouse gases we’ve added to the atmosphere. That’s why the oceans and the atmosphere are warming.” is false.

That is not according to me, that is what you are saying.

Just look at that gas-guzzling automobile, which was intended to run on leaded gasoline! No wonder it’s 87º F here in Pennsylvania today!

  8. Dana says:

I have to wonder. Given that the predictions made by the warmists have not come true in the real world, and the arguments that if it’s too hot, it indicates climate change, it it’s too cold, it indicates climate change, and even if the temperatures are around normal, it indicates climate change, just what would have to happen for the warmists to state that the climate change theory has been disproved?

  9. Funny you should mention that, Dana, cause I’m about to post one that asks the same thing.

  10. Butt-Frozen_Gumballs says:

This is absolute proof that auto emissions destroy all life on our planet. Just look behind the car at the destroyed buildings. And where is the car’s devastating emission point? And where is it pointing?

The effluent from that car destroyed those buildings. PROOF!!

There is nothing else to see here besides utter devastation and destruction caused by an old car’s exhaust many many decades ago. Move along.

  11. Jeffery says:

    g2,

No. That’s not what I was saying. It’s not that difficult to understand.

The overall system is warming because of the retention of the sun’s heat by greenhouse gases – oceans and atmosphere. The heat moves between the oceans and the atmosphere.

  12. gitarcarver says:

It’s not that difficult to understand.

    I agree.

You said one thing, then flopped it around, and now are trying to deny your own words.

It’s not that difficult to understand that you are denying your own writing.

  13. Jeffery says:

    g2,

    Suck it.

  14. gitarcarver says:

Isn’t it amazing how so called “intellectuals” like Jeffery come up with such witty and insightful responses?

The fifth grade called, Jeffery. They want you back in the school yard for recess.

So, does that mean I’ll get some credit here?
