Climate Astrology: National Geographic Links Snow And Cold To Globull Warming

If only there was something National Geographic could do to solve this, like not sending teams all around the world using fossil fuels to create programs

Here we go again. The weather’s going to extremes: a snowstorm in Jerusalem, wildfires in Australia, a cold snap in China, a heat wave in Brazil. Based on the first two weeks of the new year, 2013’s picking up right where 2012 left off.

They do realize that it is summer in Australia and Brazil, right? And winter in China and Jerusalem?

As much as 8 inches (20 centimeters) of snow fell on Jerusalem (map) last Thursday, closing roads across the city. It was the biggest winter storm there in 20 years. Scores of trees fell from the weight of the snow, snowball fights broke out in the parks, and Israeli President Shimon Peres was photographed building a snowman outside his residence with help from his bodyguards.

In China, the average temperature fell to 25°F (-4°C) in early January, the lowest in nearly three decades. More than a thousand ships in China’s Laizhou Bay (map) have been frozen into the ice.

National Geographic calls this “the new normal”. I call this bat guano crazy and climate astrology, whereby every weather event is linked to greenhouse gases, even cold and snow. It’s pure idiocy and completely unrelated to actual science. Even if anthropogenic global warming was real, it is not going to cause cold and snow. Only in the warped minds of dogmatic progressives hell bent on pushing their pet cult could warm cause cold.

Oh, and for those who want to discuss 2012 being the hottest since the end of the end of the Little Ice Age (well, after quite a bit of data manipulation. They haven’t deigned to release the raw data), even the Warmists at Grist notice something

Again, just to make the point: The hottest year in American history was one of the coldest worldwide this century.

Yes, yes, we’re talking about this century. And world wide temperatures are up from the end of the LIA (shocker!), because, the Earth is in the midst of a warm period. But, overall, if you want to focus on America, the raw data shows that the 1930’s, before CO2 was above 350ppm, was much warmer than this century.

If you Warmists are really concerned, you will go completely carbon neutral in your own lives. Act like it’s a crisis. You won’t.

Teach you still don’t get it yet: snow is an indication of moisture in the air. Some places like the interior of Alaaska or Antarctica are often TOO COLD to have heavy snow. They are in fact desserts. If either were to warm up they could reasonably expect MORE SNOW, not less.

OMG.. It’s worse than we thought!!!!
    RUN FOR THE PETRAS!!!!

  3. So what you’re saying, John, is that the last ice age occurred during a warm period? That makes no f’ing sense. Do you warmists every really think about what you’re saying?

It snows in Siberia even though it is really fucking cold. How is that possible?

  4. Otter says:

The GRACE satellite shows the Interior mass of Antarctica growing, lil’ johnny. That means SNOW IS ACCUMULATING. How does it snow in the interior if things work the way you claim, ‘lil johnny?

But, I understand. You are only here to make drive-by Nitwitticism, not engage in substantive, Intelligent conversation.

  5. Otter says:

You need a higher class of liberal, Teach.

    Oh, wait… not gonna happen.

You made me spew my coffee Otter.

  7. Anne says:

Isn’t a “higher class of liberal” an oxymoron?

  8. Trish says:

    # 5, 6, 7,

  9. Gumball_Brains says:

Nah, Anne. They always consider themselves the upper class. They see it as their duty to help the lower classes. Even if they don’t want it or are harmed by it. They see any other member of their class as illegitimate members and are only there because of illegalities or theft from lower member classes. Therefore, for the benefit of the lower class, they must attack those offenders\pretenders.

They of course are complete and utter shams, hypocrites, liars, and fools. They are incapable of realizing that 95% of them also got to that class because of the federal project’s largess. They rob non-profit groups. They suck the marrow out of federal budget planning. They eat high off of increased taxation that they themselves reap upon the lower classes.

While they might reside in the upper or high class, they themselves are classless.

Brilliant point. And let me just expand a little on it: The hotter the world gets the more snow we should expect–makes perfect sense. That’s probably why whenever I go on vacation to Florida in the summer it seems to snow all the time, as it is quite hot down there.

  12. Brian says:

Gumball Brains: I never considered liberals to be elitists.

Quite to the contrary, I’ve always recognized that they feel insecure, inferior, inadequate and stupid; hence, the reason for their bravado.

BTW, Maybe the reasons why they feel insecure, inferior, inadequate and stupid are because they are insecure, inferior, inadequate and stupid, ya think?

  13. At what point in time did National Geographic go all warmist and green zealot? My family subscribed when I was a kid (doesn’t everyone have stacks of old National Geographics in the attic?)but I never did, and saw it only occasionally in the doctor’s office.

It was an interesting magazine when they were just exploring the natural world, but once they became pushy zealots instead, it’s been disappointing. I can think of a few others that have gone down that path.

  14. Gumball_Brains says:

As with many environmental awareness or environmental conservation programs\groups\clubs, they have become infested with the idea that man is evil, man destroys, thus man must be removed from the environment. That is on one hand. Then on the other, they insist that man is part of nature and that we grew up\evolved in nature. But, now we are outside of nature.

While that mindset is infesting the heart of the once great programs, they are led by former soviet style communism and green eco-marxists of the 70s.

Have you noticed too EC, that many of these non-profit or green organizations are very wealthy? All the while demanding that others pay more for daring to exist.
