Dems Whine About “Carbon Pollution”

Don’t you love how people who are big “carbon” offenders like to preach?

(The Hill) Two senior House Democrats are circulating a detailed tally of extreme weather in the U.S. and worldwide as they seek to rebuild political support for congressional action to battle global warming.

Reps. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) and Edward Markey (D-Mass.) – authors of the big climate-change bill that narrowly passed the House in 2009 – released a report Tuesday about record-setting heat waves, droughts, violent storms and other costly disasters.

Bad weather only started with the invention of the combustion engine, apparently.

“While the Republican-led House of Representatives refuses to take climate action, carbon pollution is mixing a deadly cocktail of heat and extreme weather that is costing lives and billions of dollars in damages,” Markey, the top Democrat on the House Natural Resources Committee, said in a statement.

The most deadly hurricanes all occurred below 350ppm. The Dust Bowl the same. Perhaps Markey should talk to his buddies in the Democrat led Senate

Airlines for America (A4A) commended the Senate for passage of S. 1956, which would allow the Transportation Secretary to direct U.S. airlines to not participate in the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS) because it violates international law and U.S. sovereignty. The EU ETS tax has faced stiff opposition from the airline industry and international governments.

“Congress has spoken – U.S. airlines should not be subjected to this illegal scheme that amounts to little more than a cash grab for the European Union as none of the funds collected are required to be used for environmental purposes,” said A4A President and CEO Nicholas E. Calio, noting that the House previously passed a similar bill.

Will Markey and Waxman vote for or against the bill?
