Flavored Milk Banned From L.A Unified Schools

Having solved all the crime, the gang violence, the drug issues, horrific traffic (hey, why don’t all those globull warming believing LA liberals take the bus? Moving on), illegal immigration, hospitals closing, and other things, well

Chocolate and strawberry milk are out.

Next to go: Corn dogs and chicken nuggets.

The Los Angeles Unified School District on Tuesday, with a 5-2 vote on a new dairy contract, became by far the largest district in the country to remove flavored milk from its menus, part of its effort to make school food healthier and help combat childhood obesity.

I’m going to go out on a limb here, but, I’d hazard a guess that the chocolate and strawberry flavored milk was probably low fat and/or 1%. And probably got the snowflakes to drink their milk. But, hey, we don’t want them to enjoy their meals. They have to be as miserable as their liberal parents.

The milk issue has overshadowed other changes in the district’s food services division, which serves 650,000 meals a day at 1,000 sites. A menu overhaul is underway that will mean fewer meals that resemble fast food and more vegetarian offerings. Spinach tortellini in butternut squash sauce and California sushi rolls, along with many ethnic foods, are to be added. Corn dogs, chicken nuggets and other breaded items are out, said Dennis Barrett, food services director.

That should really help the kiddies eat. Think back to when you were a kid and offered something like spinach tortellini. Exactly what face are you making now as you imagine that?

Spinach tortellini in butternut squash sauce and California sushi rolls…

I saw a comment about this yesterday and thought the commenter was kidding. Are you serious? NO Kid will eat that. And all that food will go to waste. The kids will be miserable. The food will be uneaten and thrown out. Everyone will be pissed off when this is over. Mark my words – this has nothing to do with healthy eating. Follow the money. What is really going on here? No one could be THAT stupid. Spinich? For kids?

Well, at least we haven’t gotten to the point where we are serving the little tykes scallions as a snack.

    Oh wait.

    WHAT?

Just another reason why California is BONED!!! I think this is the most stupid thing every however. To stop the ingestion of one pint of flavored 1% milk… is going to END OBESITY!?!?!?

When, all they do is go home and plop down in front of a video game and munch on cheetohs, ice cream, chips, and hersey kisses?!?!?!

Now, they wont even get a decent meal at school.

Good thing they also get breakfast and dinner at school too. Oh, and during summer. Oh, and during breaks, and during field trips.
