Obama: What Say To Another Short Term Payroll Tax Break?

Because this has worked so wonderfully since he took over as (not my) President

President Barack Obama’s advisers have discussed seeking a temporary cut in the payroll taxes businesses pay on wages as they debate ways to spur hiring amid signs that the recovery is slowing, according to people familiar with the matter.

The idea, which is in preliminary stages of discussion, is among several being talked about at the White House as the economy holds center stage for the administration and Congress, the people said on condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations. The unemployment rate in May rose to 9.1 percent, the highest level this year.

It didn’t work too well before, and it won’t work too well again. What Democrats do not get is that short term measures like this do not inspire confidence in the private sector. What they want is stability from government, or as much stability as possible. They are not going to hire when they are unsure as to what the government will do, especially since Obama has specifically stated he will not sign legislation reauthorizing the current tax rates (hopefully, it won’t be his call in 2013). They are unsure as to what ObamaCare will do. They are unsure as to the way government will act towards them (think Boeing). And the general uncertainty in the economy will not spur them to hire more employees.

Good thing unemployment hasn’t “risen unexpectedly.”

If only someone had told us before the 2008 election that Team Obama would be so clueless as to how business works.

Dang.. if only. Crap. If only we had known that a man with no business experience, no leadership experience other than organizing mobs and rallies, no executive experience, no true bridge-building skills… could never make a good president.

    Darn.

Guess we’ll just have to vote in a Socialist Romney to turn things around.
