Glad The Dems Are Waiting To Hear Patraeus’ Report

Such honest, open minded folks

Congressional Democrats are trying to undermine U.S. Army Gen. David H. Petraeus’ credibility before he delivers a report on the Iraq war next week, saying the general is a mouthpiece for President Bush and his findings can’t be trusted.

"The Bush report?" Senate Majority Whip Richard J. Durbin said when asked about the upcoming report from Gen. Petraeus, U.S. commander in Iraq.

"We know what is going to be in it. It’s clear. I think the president’s trip over to Iraq makes it very obvious," the Illinois Democrat said. "I expect the Bush report to say, ‘The surge is working. Let’s have more of the same.’ "

The top Democrats — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California — also referred to the general’s briefing as the "Bush report."

And the slurring continues. I’m not sure why the Washington Times "sounds" so surprised, since it has been apparent for years and years that the Democrats are invested in our defeat in Iraq. They voted unanimously for Patraeus, yet, they have never (for the most part) given him a chance. To them, the Surge was a failure before it even started. And nothing will change their minds.

Let’s say the Iraqi parliment comes back from their break and gets some serious work done, the largest being the oil revenue sharing plan. The Dems will still consider it a failure. To them, the only success would be retreat and defeat.

Troops are going to be reduced. Now you can call it what you will but the number of American troops will be going down. Defeat surrender, redeployment, victory, call it what you will the troops WILL be reduced.
