Happy Monday! The start of the work week, a time to get busy and productive, impress the boss, do some good things. How ’bout a beer?
It would have been exceedingly easy to mention Elvira, Queen of Darkness, or that song, but, no, we will just keep it simple, and say that this Elvira needs a beer
An immigration activist who took refuge in a Chicago church for a year to avoid being separated from her son has been deported to Mexico, the church’s pastor said.
Elvira Arellano was arrested Sunday afternoon outside Our Lady Queen of Angels church in Los Angeles. She was deported several hours later, said the Rev. Walter Coleman, pastor of Adalberto United Methodist Church in Chicago, where Arellano had taken refuge.
"She has been deported. She is free and in Tijuana," said Coleman, who said he spoke to her on the phone. "She is in good spirits. She is ready to continue the struggle against the separation of families from the other side of the border."
Correct me if I am wrong, but, rather then continue that whole separation of less then a day, she could bring her family with her to Mexico. I know, wacky idea.
But, for all you lefties who want to blame Bush, cool your BDS jets
Arellano came to Washington state illegally in 1997. She was deported to Mexico shortly after, but returned and moved to Illinois in 2000, taking a job cleaning planes at O’Hare International Airport.
I guess history did not start on Jan 20, 2001.
"We are sad, but at the same time we are angry," said Javier Rodriguez, a Chicago immigration activist who worked with Arellano. "How dare they arrest this woman?"
How? Apparently pretty easy. Seems as if the Feds actually had their sh*t together, and a whole plan was in place to speed her on her way once arrested for *gasp!* breaking the law.
So, say "buh bye, Elvira!" Till she breaks the law a third time.
Allahpundit has an interesting take, wondering why she wasn’t busted while leaving the church in Chicago.

PS: after listening to and reading some lib talk, I gotta say, do these people understand personal responsibility? Elvira made her choice, not once, but twice, to illegally enter the USA. She chose to have a kid here, hoping that it would keep her in the country while getting sympathy. I have none for her. This was of her choosing. She could choose to bring the kid back to Mexico. Where’s the father? Is he an America citizen? Or perhaps a Mexican citizen? Is he here in the USA, or back in Mexico? Cry me a river.
