More Global Warming News From Columbus

Yesterday, Columbus, Nebraska, this time it is from Columbus, Ohio (h/t The Jawa Report)

A new report on climate over the world's southernmost continent shows that temperatures during the late 20th century did not climb as had been predicted by many global climate models.

This comes soon after the latest report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change that strongly supports the conclusion that the Earth's climate as a whole is warming, largely due to human activity.

It also follows a similar finding from last summer by the same research group that showed no increase in precipitation over Antarctica in the last 50 years. Most models predict that both precipitation and temperature will increase over Antarctica with a warming of the planet.

What now, Global Warming As Caused By Man zealots? See, this is what is called scientific research, as opposed to political pontificating and fund raising propaganda.

As for the the northern tip of the Antarctic Peninsula being one of the places with the highest change in temperature, the scientists, doing scientific research, believe the evidence shows that the Westerlies, winds down in that area which have been strenghtening over the past 40 years, have been causing the ice sheet collapses

"The peninsula is the most northern point of Antarctica and it sticks out into the westerlies," Bromwich says. "If there is an increase in the westerly winds, it will have a warming impact on that part of the continent, thus helping to break up the ice shelves, he said.

So, again, we see natural forces, not Mankind, causing warming, mostly on a micro-climatic scale.

Bit of an update: CNS News is reporting that the United States is doing better in greenhouse gases then those in Europe

Those mealy-mouth mouses in the EU make a roar about Kyoto because the US wouldn’t sign.

We reduce our gases, even though we didn’t SIGN anything.

They make the pledge and then don’t comply.

ACTIONS speaks louder than words you lousy, leftist, lying, Socialist losers.

    President’s Day Open Trackback Weekend…

I’m looking forward to a three-day weekend! My last one for a long time. And there’s so many things I need to do……

By doing away with the midaeval warming period, the impact of the sun, taking temperature readings only in cities where the temperature is warmer because concrete absorbs heat, and other things, they’ve managed to skew the models to make it appear as though our impact on the earth’s temperatures is bigger. Still, CO2, methane, and nitrous oxides are created naturally in nature, and actually protect the earth from infrared rays from the Sun; a protective blanket that makes all life possible as compared to Mars which doesn’t have it.

The hockey stick myth is just a part of the propaganda that’s been thrust upon us, and it’s good that there are enough people out there who realize it. Junk Science dot com has a horrible scenario as far as how much money has been wasted on Kyoto so far:

blockquote> for the bargain price of just $100 trillion we could theoretically lower global mean temperature by about 1 °C.

here, here, Maggie! And thanks, Bill!

That’s from Junk Science dot com.

    here, here, Maggie and Bill!

  5. Maggie, Cao, exactly. It is worse then junk science.
