Danish Embassy In Lebenon Burned

More proof of the peaceful intent of Islam

Muslims protesting caricatures of Islam’s prophet set fire Sunday to a building housing the Danish Embassy in Lebanon as security forces fired tear gas in an attempt to stop the protesters.

Thousands of protesters took part in the protest but only a small group of Islamic extremists tried to break the security barrier, prompting troops to fire tear gas and water cannons to disperse them, said the official.

Only a small portion of Detroit’s residents fire guns into the air on Devils Night, but, guess what? The whole city gets the rap. When Vancouver Canuck’s fans rioted after they won the Stanley Cup, it was only a small portion going nuts. Yet no one remembers the peaceful ones. And so it is with Islam. Maybe it is only a small portion who are extremist and willing to use violence at all times. But it sure looks like the whole religion is insane, intollerant, and violent. And we are given example after example after example.

The trouble in Lebanon threatened to take a sectarian spin as protesters stoned the nearby St. Maroun Church, one of the city’s main Maronite Catholic churches, and private property in Ashrafieh, a Christian area near Beirut’s commercial district. Muslim clerics were seen trying to stop the protesters.

The demonstrators also attacked policemen with stones and set fire to several fire engines, witnesses said. Black smoke was seen billowing from the area. They also burned Danish flags.

I guess they felt it was OK to stone a Christian church. There has been plenty of evidence that they do not mind harming their own mosques. But, good for those clerics for trying to stop the stoning, which was more then likely so as to avoid more sectarian violence, rather then because they gave a rats ass about the church.
