France Still Burning, But No Longer News

You would think that the meltdown in France, and the possible spreading of the riots would continue to be news. You would be wrong. A quick perusal of quite a few news sites finds the France riots being relegated to second, third, or even lower tier stories. Even at the BBC, the story wasn’t on their front page at this time. Had to go to the European section, and it still wasn’t the lead story. Fortunately, the violence is chillin’ out

Violence subsided again overnight – there were clashes in Toulouse, but elsewhere unrest was only sporadic.

Good. While I certainly made some fun of the French gov’t and people over the past 2 weeks, never did I want the country or region to go completely up in flames. Hopefully, it will stay quiet.

However, that said, a more important story at the BBC was

Scientists have nicknamed the creature Godzilla, because of its dinosaur-like snout and jagged teeth.

The US-Argentine team of researchers believes the animal was a ferocious predator, feeding on other marine reptiles and large sea creatures.

The species is formally known as Dakosaurus andiniensis and has been unveiled in the journal Science.

    Well keep in mind that there are bigger crocodiles out there today than this one. Hell, there was even one bigger than that, much bigger than that, back then. check this out if you’re interested.
