On the back of yesterdays post, comes todays France is Doomed news. Apparently, the fact that Islamics are rioting in France, due to a couple of kids electrocuting themselves while trying to (supposedly) avoid the police, was caused by "deep, underlying problems."

PARIS (AFP) – The French government was reeling after nearly a week of suburban rioting outside Paris spread to other areas around the capital, laying bare what observers said was the country’s failure to address deep problems of poverty and immigration.

Gangs of stone-throwing youths clashed with police and torched 180 cars overnight in several towns north and west of Paris in an escalation of dusk-to-dawn violence that has raged since last Thursday following the death of two teenagers in the northeast suburb of Clichy-sous-Bois.

Somehow, I seem to be missing the parts in the story that show that the majority of the rioting was done, as others report, by Muslims. And poverty is no reason to act like that. But, let’s continue:

CLICHY-SOUS-BOIS, France – Menacing youths smoked cigarettes in doorways Wednesday and hulks of burned cars littered the tough streets of Paris’ northeastern suburbs scarred by a week of riots that left residents on edge and sent the government into crisis mode.

In a seventh consecutive night of skirmishes, young people threw rocks at police Wednesday in six suburbs in the Seine-Saint-Denis region north of Paris — about a 40-minute drive from the Eiffel Tower. In one of them, Le Blanc-Mesnil, about a dozen cars burned and curious residents, some in slippers and bathrobes, poured into the streets.

Some said the unrest — sparked by the accidental deaths of two teenagers last week — is an expression of frustration over grinding unemployment and police harassment in the communities, where many North African immigrants live. "It is not going to end. It is going to explode," said an 18-year-old who would only give his name as Amine.

Sounds like the French are going to be having some fun, as well as paying the price for, among other things, allowing their population to become 25% displaced and virtually out of work Islamics, high unemployment, and fixed and stagnent gowth.

Perhaps our government, including President Bush, might take note of what can happen with an out of control immigration policy.
