Majority Of Americans Think Arizona Did The Right Thing

Terrible news for the open borders/we love illegals crowd

Most American voters think Arizona was right to pass its own immigration law, and think the Obama administration should wait and see how the new law works rather than try to stop it, according to a Fox News poll released Friday.

The new poll finds 61 percent of voters nationally think Arizona was right to take action instead of waiting for the federal government to do something on immigration. That’s more than twice as many as the 27 percent who think securing the border is a federal responsibility and Arizona should have waited for Washington to act.

Of course, Chuckie Schumer wants Arizona’s governor, Janet Brewer, to delay implementation of the law in order to wait for Los Federales to get their comprehensive amnesty bill passed. In response, Brewer told him “no. Now go away or I will taunt you a second time.”

Significantly more voters think the Obama administration should wait and see how the new law works (64 percent) than think the administration should try to stop it (15 percent).

In today’s politics, 64% sounds kinda like a mandate. But, then, Obama and the Democrats failed to listen to the Will Of The People on healthcare, as well, and passed their monstrosity, so, who’s to say they won’t go ahead and try and stop Arizona from using their 10th Amendment rights to protect the people of Arizona, while passing a new immigration bill that will be all about giving illegals an easy pathway to citizenship while ignoring the problems that make it easy for the illegals to come here in the first place.

Asked how to deal with illegal immigration, the poll shows large numbers favor using National Guard troops to help border patrol agents (79 percent), and imposing fines and criminal charges against employers who hire illegal aliens (79 percent).

I can agree with that. How about you?

  1. I know for a fact that Arizona did the right thing. No apologies for my views either. I have to cough up my ID for all kinds of stuff on a regular basis. It is how life is. Police are allowed by law to ask for ID. In the course of normal duty performance. It’s in the billet description!

Arizona enforcing a Federal law which has been in place for 70 years?

    You Bet they did right.

As was said elsewhere: ‘Never ask a man (obama) to do a woman’s job (Janet Brewer).’

Oh, and Cinco De Mayo should be Scrapped in the US. I doubt very much they celebrate the 4th of July in Mexico. Only the money coming in from US vacationers that Go there for the 4th of July.

50% of the illegal immigrants entered the USA under valid visa.the minimum wage will never rise as long as American workers must compete with illegals. Farm labor costs are less than 10% of the cost of our fruits and vegetables. Paying $1.10 cents for a head of lettuce instead of $1.00 would result in farm laborers being paid 130 dollars per day instead of 65 dollars. Americans would do that work for 130 dollars per day, but not for 65 or less. Our first defense is by enforcing our own labor laws. as long as there is work for illegals they will come no matter how high of a fence we put up.

Of course this is irrelevant. What matters is a person’s immigration status at this moment.

minimum wage will never rise as long as American workers must compete with illegals.

Farm workers are not paid by the hour.

Our first defense is by enforcing our own labor laws.

The first act is cut down on the flow of illegal immigrants coming into the country. We have already seen that the mere threat of enforcing immigration laws causes a massive effect in illegal immigrants leaving the county.

as long as there is work for illegals they will come no matter how high of a fence we put up.

Really? So the mass exodus in Arizona is all because of labor laws?

This is just another attempt by a leftist to make it seem that businesses are evil. The fact of the matter is that this needs to be a three pronged approach. We must stop the flow into the country, we must deport those who are here illegally and we must hold accountable businesses that knowingly hire illegal immigrants.

Two of the three steps (deporting illegal immigrants and holding businesses accountable) are included in Arizona Bill 1070 – a bill which you have spoken out against and are opposed.

As you want businesses to be accountable, please state that you support Bill 1070. We all know that you won’t.

In failing to do so, you only further the proof that you are incapable of a serious discussion, and are merely here as a troll.

  5. John, about 1/3rd of all illegals had valid visas. Which is why we need real immigration reform, not BS designed to provide some sort of amnesty.
