You don’t say

Insurgents. Freedom Fighters. Rebels. Martyrs.Just some of the words that the media has used to describe what the anti American and Iraqi government forces are. Um, no.

Who are the suicide bombers of Iraq? By the radicals’ account, they are an internationalist brigade of Arabs, with the largest share in the online lists from Saudi Arabia and a significant minority from other countries on Iraq’s borders, such as Syria and Kuwait. The roster of the dead on just one extremist Web site reviewed by The Washington Post runs to nearly 250 names, ranging from a 13-year-old Syrian boy said to have died fighting the Americans in Fallujah to the reigning kung fu champion of Jordan, who sneaked off to wage war by telling his family he was going to a tournament.

Among the dead are students of engineering and English, the son of a Moroccan restaurateur and a smattering of Europeanized Arabs. There are also long lists of names about whom nothing more is recorded than a country of origin and the word "martyr."

So, here we have the "Liberal leaning" Washington Post telling us that there are vast amounts of Arabs going to Iraq to fight. And die. That would make them, oh, terrorists. There have been cases of Iranians, Syrians, Lebenese, Egyptians, and Muslims from many other countries, including as far away as Pakistan and the Phillipines. They are not insurgents. That would denote that they are Iraqi’s. Which they aren’t. One more liberal argument put to bed.

Calling all geeks

OK, here is the deal. Beth at MVRWC is looking for a special little java type applet. I’m not going to say what it is, because that will be a surprise for when it is done, and I have about given up on it, it is a bit beyond what my knowledge base is. I could probably study it for awhile, learn, etc, but I would rather that one of you already knowledgeable folks "get ‘er done."

The basics are this. A java applet that would fit on most folks sidebars. It will link to 2 pieces of information that are each updated throughout the day. A good background.

If you are interested, email me and I will give you the specific details.

A target rich environment

John Hawkins at Right Wing News talks about "reading the Huffington Post every day" since it is a "target rich environment." Let me add another one to the list. John Kerry’s official Senate site. So nice that Kerry uses this site, and official .gov site, to attack, attack, complain, whine, and attack. Somewhere among those words that he surely had someone else write, a plan there might be (sorry, too much Yoda quotes as of late, there be).

Here’s a great one:

"Now I don’t go around preaching my faith, but I’ll tell you what I believe: When hundreds of thousands of innocent souls have perished in Darfur, when 11 million children are without health insurance in the United States of America and when our colossal debt subjects our economic future to the whims of central bankers in Asia — no one can tell me that faith demands the Senate spend its time arguing over a handful of judges. No one with those priorities can use my faith to intimidate me. "

No, you don’t go around preaching your faith. Quite the opposite, John. You seem to take delight at actually preaching the opposite of what you Catholic faith tells you, such as that abortion and gay marriage are ok, which is against the Catholic church. And where were you, John, when 800,000 Rwadans were being slaughtered as the UN and the Clinton administration turned the other way?

Furthermore, you seem to be saying that there is no point in arguing over a handful of judges, if I read you correctly. Great. Tell Reid, Pelosi, and Boxer, and let’s get those judicial nominees up in front of the Senate and vote on them.

"I will not lay down and put this narrow, stubborn agenda ahead of our families, ahead of our Constitution, and ahead of our values. We are a proud nation that respects the rights of the minority, values the separation of church and state, and believes in honesty and personal responsibility. And I refuse to stand by while our democracy is trampled by politicians more concerned about amassing power than helping the people who sent them to Washington in the first place."

So you are going to fight against the obstructionism of the Demomoonbat Party? John, we hardly knew ye. Separation of Church and State? Could you point that out in the Bill of Rights? ‘Cause I sure cannot find it in my copy. Perhaps you should read Jefferson’s letter which was pretty much saying that the Federal Gov’t shouldn’t give money nor support to one religion over another. And, if you believe in honesty, why not sign your 180’s?

(PS, there is no post continuation. I started to write something much longer using that, then changed my mind)

Where I Stand

An intersting quiz, via the Pirate’s Blog. Kinda hard to get the measure of a person with so few questions, but, I would say it is pretty close, ‘cepting that personal responsibility thing. Only thing I am "liberal" leaning is on the environment, though I do not take the liberal position of throwing money at an issue. Wise use and conservation are my buzz words. I like a clean, pristine environment. The best measure of my thoughts is that the first channels I check when turning the boob tube on are ones with nature shows.

Your Political Profile

Overall: 85% Conservative, 15% Liberal
Social Issues: 100% Conservative, 0% Liberal
Personal Responsibility: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal
Fiscal Issues: 100% Conservative, 0% Liberal
Ethics: 75% Conservative, 25% Liberal
Defense and Crime: 100% Conservative, 0% Liberal

Nancy Gets Her Prince Charming

On the heels of Pelosi with Class (still a little queezy over that :D), looks like Nancy has had a Cinderella experience:

Image hosting by Photobucket It was a Cinderella story, Capitol Hill style. Starring as Prince Charming, freshman Rep. Dave Reichert dropped to his knees Thursday in the midst of a news conference and handed over a beige leather slingback that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi lost during Wednesday’s hasty evacuation of Congress.

“I’m proud to be here, and proud to present you with your shoe,” said Reichert, R-Wash.

“That is my shoe!” Pelosi, D-Calif., exclaimed to laughter.

Pelosi lost her shoes when Capitol police literally lifted her out of them during the evacuation, which was prompted by a small plane that strayed into restricted airspace over the nation’s capital.

“I said, ‘I’m losing my shoe,’ and they said, ‘That’s too bad, just keep going,'” Pelosi said.

I bet if Kerry had found it, he would have sold it back to her. Kennedy would have been wondering why the shoe wasn’t drowned in water.

A Frenchman involved in wrong doing? OMG

It just boggles the mind. One of Chirac’s buddies has been implicated in the Oil For Food scandal, that thing the Leftazoids wish would go away so that the US can hand over it’s security and military control to it.

A longtime ally of French President Jacques Chirac and a leading British critic of the Iraq war received huge contracts to resell Iraqi oil from Saddam Hussein under the U.N. oil-for-food program, Senate investigators have found.

In findings being released today, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs permanent subcommittee on investigations charges that former French Interior Minister Charles Pasqua and British Member of Parliament George Galloway each received the right to market more than 10 million barrels of cut-rate oil from dictator Saddam’s Oil Ministry between 1999 and 2003.

Well, that’s not so bad in and of itself, is it? Yes, it is, since it involved kick backs and outright bribes, lining Saddam’s pockets with essentially blood money. The money didn’t make it back to the people of Iraq in the form of food, medical supplies, aid, etc. And don’t forget, neither of these individuals owned a refinery. They were not supposed to be allowed to purchase the oil. Period.

Of course, both gentlemen are denying the allegations. Too bad those allegations come from Iraq Oil Ministry files, as well as depositions. One thing you can say about Saddam, the old bastard made sure people kept damm good records.
