On Earth Day, Nancy P Invokes God

Bad Nancy! Breaking the liberal proscription regarding the separation of church and state. Isn’t that what the Left always tells us? That there is, and should be, a separation on church and state?

Some critics say global warming is a form of religion for liberal environmental activists. Indeed, in her official statement on Earth Day, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi invoked both God and the Bible.

“Almost four decades ago, a group of visionary Americans energized the environmental movement, and indeed our nation, by dedicating a day to this ideal: we must preserve God’s creation, our planet, for the generations to come,” Pelosi said.

Bad Nancy! The secularists are going to be pissed with you! How dare you invoke God! Not like they aren’t pissed at you and the rest of the surrender monkeys

Democrats promised a wave of “green” legislation when they took control of Congress in January 2007, but their failure to produce major legislation to address global warming has left many environmental activists seeing red.

Oops. Well, in their defense, Democrats promised a lot of things to a lot of groups, and pretty much blew them off, too.

BTW, just to be clear, I am mocking Nancy, a hard core San Fran liberal, for mentioning God. Personally, I am all for protecting the environment, and, unlike some conservatives I know, both on the Interwebz and in real life, I believe that God would want us to take care of His creation.

And Google apparently wants us to go back to living like it was the stone age, which is a funny position for a company that relies on tech

google earth day

That’s cute. But, it is Earth Day. And there are some things that you can do that will actually make a difference, unlike buying more carbon offsets and lining Al Gore’s pockets. Instead of buying a bottle of water, go buy a reusable bottle and fill it yourself. Those bottles last a long, long, long time in landfills.

Recycle the beer and wine bottles you drank over the weekend. Turn the temp down on your water heater. You will save money, too! Stay away from styrofoam. It lasts for about 500 years in a landfill. Don’t throw garbage out of your car window. Go smack someone who is clear cutting their property (OK, that is more wishful thinking on my part. Drives me nuts when I see that happening. The clear cutting). Pick up garbage that you see lying around. Plant something. And many other environmentally responsible things.
