Happy Earth Overshoot Day Or Something!

Believe it or not, the hardcore enviroweenies/Warmists are actually pushing this. And, of course, they wrap this whole thing under the banner of Hotcoldwetdry

Happy Earth Overshoot Day! We’ve Now Used All Our Resources For The Year.

On this day in August 2015, humans have used an entire year’s worth of the Earth’s natural resources, according to the Global Footprint Network.

Calling it Earth Overshoot Day, the group celebrates — or, rather, notes — the day by which people have used more natural resources, such as fish stocks, timber, and even carbon emissions, than the Earth can regenerate in a single year. It’s basically a balance sheet for global accounting.

“We can overuse nature quite easily,” Mathis Wackernagel, president of the Global Footprint Network, told ThinkProgress. “When you start to spend more than you earn, it does not become immediately apparent. But, eventually, you go bankrupt.”

There’s an easy solution: all these believers can just kill themselves, something that they want for Other People. They don’t seem to care too much about human life, other than themselves. Or, really, they can refuse to breed, and they can immediately give up all use of fossil fuels, go completely carbon neutral, live in itty bitty domiciles, growing their own food, no AC, no heat, etc.

Amazingly, even if humanity were to achieve the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) recommended 30 percent reduction in carbon emissions by 2030, we would still be in a yearly deficit, according to the group.

Huh. Moving the goalpost. These people always want more.

I bet you identify as a Christian don’t you? What the fuck would Jesus think about your comment?

A huge contribution to Climate Change is the media. As above, It witholds from its readers the underlying sensory cause of this catastrophe as well as the remedy for it. It is insane to destroy our own life-support system. The 54-sense remedy for our insanity is readily available to any caring person while the media keeps omitting it. ahhhhh Teach now that you are close to 50, have you decided to forgo breeding in order to save Gaia?
If so, don’t that really is just a bit too extreme
If you are deciding to wait for that next Ice Age, that isn’t going to happen, even with the slight reduction in solar irradiance (like we have been having since before the “pause” and all those recent heat record years, the slight drop in solar irradiance will not come close to making up for the heat trapped by green house gases

  4. jl says:

Sorry, John. They’re not “record heat years”, not in the adult sense of the word. A few “warm” years out of 135 means…nothing, when climate change is 4 billion years old. And again, it’s not that they’re warm, or cold, but rather the causation- that fact which has gone completely over your head, again.

  5. Jeffery says:

    j,

You and Teach agree that nothing should be done about AGW, yet you differ significantly on the reason behind your conclusions . Teach claims it’s warming but by natural processes, yet you Deny that it’s warming. Do you think Teach is wrong?

  6. Liam Thomas says:

You and Teach agree that nothing should be done about AGW,

The right has developed a general consensus of
“all of the above” Energy policy.

What this means Jeffery is go build the stuff. IF it is better then fossil fuels then fossil fuel use will diminish.

Yet again your own Sierra Club and Peta and you name the group holds up the construction of nearly every “ALTERNATIVE” project for up to a decade making the catchup part of Alternatives almost impossible to achieve.

YOU blame the right and the deniers for the lack of movement on the AGW front and yet the right and Deniers have two simple philosophies.

    1. WE DO NOT CARE IF YOU BUILD THEM….as the movie says…build it and they will come.

    2. THE GOP has less vested interest in fossil fuels then the left does. The evidence can be found in the “MYRAID” of LEFTIST BILLIONAIRES getting rich off fossil fuels…..Warren Buffet, Bill Gate, George Soros, T. Boone Pickens….etc.

So the starting argument is wrong….the right is not vested in fossil fuels……..we only are interested in JOBS, WEALTH CREATION and ENERGY PRODUCTION……

IF YOU CAN REPLACE FOSSIL FUELS without putting Humans in the poor house…..go for it………

IT IS NOT THE RIGHT HOLDING YOU BACK…..but your own leftist shrewd whackos.

  7. Liam Thomas says:

And I might add that incidently in a 100 years when alternatives power everything the left will be railing at the right for being in bed with those evil windfarms that are killing birds and making too much noise.

I’ll bet you any sum you care to name that Mathis does NOT think that statement applies to government.
