It’s that time of the week again! Do you have an interesting post you want to share with everyone? The official Surrender Monkey of the Democratic Party says to do what the Lefties don’t, since they all have the same talking points: link it!
Hmmmm, let's see. The SMs have been telling us for years (generally since January 20, 2001) that we should respect the sovreignity of countries around the world. We should be be nice to them, and listen to them, and not tell them what to do.
Huh?
The Senate, controlled by Bush's Republicans, voted 61-37 earlier to scrap a Democratic proposal for a four-year deadline for scanning all U.S.-bound cargo while still overseas. Such a deadline is also opposed by the shipping industry and the Republican majority in the House.
New York Democratic Sen. Charles Schumer, who sought the deadline, said that it was not enough to install radiation detection devices at home.
He said other countries should install scanning systems that capture an image of contents of U.S.-bound container ships to help inspectors spot suspicious cargo. Shipping companies could pay the cost, about $8 per container, Schumer said.
While certainly an admirable goal, and one I agree with, since we should try and inspect ships well before they get to the U.S., this completey violates the Democrat principles rhetoric that we have heard for years, ie, don't be the big bully on the block and tell the rest of the world what to do.
Besides, the Dems do not really think there is a war on terror anyhow. To them, cargo inspection is just a way to make political points, and involve the federal government in to private business even more.
Do you have an interesting post? Or just a post? Want it spread around? Well, go ahead and link it up! Otherwise, Cynthia McKinney may
