‘How Shall We Live’ student climate change art exhibit opens at Dewey Hall
Sheffield — One hundred and eighty student artists from 10 Berkshire County high schools are featured in the exhibit “How Shall We Live,” on display at Dewey Hall through Friday, June 19.
The juried art show is a collaboration between the organizations Living the Change Berkshires, Cooler Communities, and the Clark Art Institute.
The exhibit was curated by Living the Change Berkshires member Anne Legêne and Cooler Communities member Uli Nagel.

“It’s amazing when you read and see what these kids are experiencing when you find out that they are facing a world with a climate crisis,” Legêne told The Berkshire Edge. “Art is the best way to let students express themselves about this crisis.”
“[Cooler Communities] is a climate education nonprofit organization that connects classrooms to climate solutions,” Nagel added. “This art show gives students an outlet for statements that are deeply wise at times and are very thoughtful. We want to inspire these students to action and keep the conversation going about climate change.”
They have ruined these children’s lives, making them so concerned with the SOON!!!!! doom they can barely operate. Us Gen X and earlier weren’t indoctrinated into Doom over global nuclear war, we were taught to persevere. Today’s kids are just, well, fucked in the head.

1. Transportation (~28–35%): This is the largest single source of U.S. direct CO? emissions. Over 94% of the fuel used in this sector is petroleum-based, driven by passenger cars, freight trucks, marine vessels, and aviation.
2. Electricity Generation (~24–30%): Producing power for homes, businesses, and industry.
3. Industry (~23%): Emissions here come from on-site fossil fuel combustion for heat and power, as well as CO? released during chemical processes required to manufacture raw materials (like cement or steel).
4. Commercial & Residential Buildings (~7–13%): Emissions from homes and commercial facilities are largely driven by fossil fuels burned for heating, cooking, and powering appliances.
5. Agriculture (~10%): While the majority of agricultural emissions consist of methane and nitrous oxide, the energy required to run farm equipment and manage crops still contributes directly to CO? output.
