Um, she wants to giving criminals trials, trials where the victims usually get justice?

Lefty judge threatens to close court, start raising bail money for defendants after feds arrested Judge Hannah Dugan for allegedly helping illegal migrant avoid ICE

A lefty Wisconsin jurist is threatening not to hold court following Friday’s arrest of Milwaukee judge for allegedly helping a Mexican illegal migrant evade federal immigration officers.

Monica Isham, a circuit judge Sawyer County, defended Judge Hannah Dugan Saturday, claiming in an email to other state judges that she “has no intention of allowing anyone to be taken out of my courtroom by [Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents] and sent to a concentration camp,” Wisconsin Right Now first reported.

Isham, who in 2023 became the first Native American elected to the county’s circuit court, also threatened to “start raising bail money” for defendants.

“Yesterday, Judge Hannah Dugan of Milwaukee County stood on her Oath in the very building she swore to uphold it and she was arrested and charged with felonies for it,” Isham wrote.

Whelp, that’s a lie. Because she’s being charged with, at a minimum, obstruction of justice, as she stood in the way of federal law enforcement agents engaged in a lawful detention of an illegal alien who had beaten a man and a women

“Enough is enough. I no longer feel protected or respected as a Judge in this administration. If there is no guidance for us and no support for us, I will refuse to hold court in Branch 2 in Sawyer County. I will not put myself or my staff who may feel compelled to help me or my community in [harm’s] way.”

Harm? Are any of them illegals? Otherwise, the only one being harmed are the victims of crimes.

It could well end up that Dugan is charged with more federal statutes, and the FBI may well come for the court employees who assisted her in allowing a charged criminal, and an illegal alien who had already been deported once. And here’s Isham saying she won’t do her job, all to protect illegal aliens? Really? Is this really what you want to do, Democrats?

    So, this Judge, an officer of the court, and someone who has taken an oath to uphold the laws of the land, wants to obstruct a federal law enforcement agency from apprehending people who may be in the country illegally?

    Judges are not above the law although some think they are. They hold office by either election or appointment and swear allegiance to the Constitution of the United States, their respective state, and to uphold the law applied without prejudice or favor. They are there to resolve disputes that their jurisdiction (power of the court granted to them) allows and to resolve those disputes based on the facts found and law that applies. Although they have a great deal of discretion in fact finding, their discretion is not unbridled and is subject to review (and sometimes) reversal on appeal as is an error of law made in the trial court.

    This judge has basically said I will not be ethical and follow the law. That, in itself, is the basis to refer the judge to an ethics disciplinary committee be it a Judicial Evaluation Committee or some other body that deals with ethical misfeasance by a jurist.

    Monica Isham is obviously as corrupt as they come. Impeach her, prosecute her, strip her of all pension funds and lock her in prison for intentionally violating her Oath of Office.

    Andrew Napolitano, a former judge, was discussing the Justice Department’s recent controversial arrest of Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan for allegedly impeding ICE’s arrest of an undocumented migrant.

    In truth, the agents entered her court in plains clothes, an affront that the judge understandably decided to stand up to. Napolitano pointed out that the agents didn’t even have a proper arrest warrant— “An administrative warrant is not an arrest warrant,” he said. “No judge would recognize an administrative warrant. So she’s on the bench, there’s a commotion in the hallway involving the person who is in front of her, the defendant who’s in front of her, for some sort of a low level assault and battery.”

    “She goes out to see what the commotion is and they say ‘We’re here to arrest this guy’ and she basically says ‘Well you’re not going to interrupt with my proceeding. We don’t permit arrests in the courtroom. You can wait in the hallway or you can wait for him outside. Let me see your arrest warrant,'” he recounted. “‘We don’t have one,'” said Napolitano, paraphrasing what the ICE agents said. “They have this administrative warrant, which is basically one ICE agent authorizing another ICE agent to detain someone.”

    “So I don’t think there’s a crime here. I think she has immunity. She can decide how a person leaves her courtroom,” he went on. “On the other hand, I can understand how the feds want to make a big deal out of this,” he went on. “They don’t like anyone, least of all judges, interfering with the orderly process of arresting people. I just think this was the wrong one for them to do and then they showed pictures of her in handcuffs and all of that kind of stuff which is a violation of several regulations.”

    “I think they overreached by arresting her. If there’s an issue in a white collar case with a public official like there was here in New York with Mayor Adams, you don’t stop him on the street and put handcuffs on him, you say to his lawyer ‘We need to talk to you about whether or not you will voluntarily surrender because we’re about to charge you with a crime,'” said Napolitano.
    “But because they’re on a bit of a jihad against judges, they decided to make an example out of this,” he added. “I think this is the wrong case out of which to make an example,” he said. “I think she has immunity. She can decide where a person leaves her courtroom from and what she says to that person, and she can’t be prosecuted for it.”
