Zelensky Says US Aid Totally About Protecting All Of Europe From Russia Or Something

Right, right, sure thing

Zelensky says the US is ‘not funding’ war in Ukraine

Sherman Potter Bull CookiesUkrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reiterated Sunday that the United States is “not funding” war in his country, emphasizing that the U.S. is helping protect democracy throughout the region.

NBC host Kristen Welker asked Zelensky on “Meet the Press” how long Americans can expect to fund the war in Ukraine, noting that there has been some strong opposition to sending additional aid to the country. Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is doing the fighting and the U.S. is only providing the munitions.

“The Americans are not funding the war in Ukraine. They foremost protect freedom and democracy all over Europe. And Ukraine is fighting. And Ukraine is sending their best sons and daughters to the front line. And this reduces the price for all Europe, for all NATO,” Zelensky said, speaking through a translator.

“It reduces the price for everyone, including the U.S. as the leaders in NATO. U.S. Army now does not have to fight protecting NATO countries. Ukrainians are doing that. And it’s only the ammo that the civilized world is providing. And I think it’s a good decision. That is why we do need to keep supporting,” he continued.

Other than rabid wackos who have failed to perform critical thinking, does anyone think Russia is going to march into Europe after taking Ukraine? Or cross the sea to take on America? Right now, they can barely beat the Ukraine army. Beat them, though, they will, unless Ukraine decides to go guerrilla war and make it so painful to Russia that they give up.

But, this type of yammering is meant to buck up the rabid supporters in the U.S. and Europe to keep the money train going, which provides funding for politicians and lots of graft. The U.S. doesn’t really know where all the money and aid is going.

(Reuters) But Kyiv still faces manpower shortages on the battlefield, while questions linger over the strength of its fortifications along a sprawling, 1,000-km front line ahead of what President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said could be a Russian summer offensive.

“The most important source of Ukrainian weakness is the lack of manpower,” said Konrad Muzyka, director of the Rochan military consultancy in Poland.

They have some new type of quicker draft and training, but, they still do not have the manpower. The aid will give them lots of shells to fire at the Russians, but, that won’t stop them. What are they doing with all the tanks and fighter planes and stuff allocated by the US and EU nations? Regardless, Russia won’t be crossing into Poland or any other EU nation once they take Ukraine. Zelensky is setting up for a demand for more aid and money.

…that the U.S. is helping protect democracy throughout the region.

Big words from the guy to cancelled elections in his country and stayed on office even thought he was likely to be kicked out by voters. Same guy who dismissed the democratic referendums in Eastern Ukraine and launched his army against civilians for not voting the way he wanted them to.

The real question is the legitimacy of the Zelensky regime. At the end of May, the Ukrainian constitution strips him of power. It would be like if Trump stayed in the White house after Jan 20th. I think I remember various people making suggestions about how that should be handled. I wonder if those same people will make the same suggestions WRT Zelensky. And why is our congress in such a hurry to give money and supplies to a regime that is on it’s last legs? Whoever replaces Zelensky, unless another American puppet, will instantly sue Russia for peace.

Zelensky has about a 90% approval rating. It’s ridiculous to think he would lose the election.

The ill-informed commenter may not be aware but in November 2020 the US was not in a life or death struggle with a global superpower invading with ground troops and ballistic missiles. The Ukrainian government declared martial law. To compare our 2020 election to a Ukrainian election is either terribly dishonest, terribly stupid, terribly naive or a mix. Zelensky may be dead by May, so MAGAts/Putinists may get their wish.

If Trump had less hubris and a few more functioning neurons, he would have invaded Mexico a month or two before his loss, and declared martial law over the Mexican fentanyl and Mexican invaders.

      • Brother John says:

We should have invaded and squashed Mexico and the cartels and installed a friendly and competent government by the end of the 1980s, but if Trump had did that, you idiots would be running around shaking your fists at the sky, tearing your hair out, and setting yourselves on fire.

It’s totally not about money laundering at all.

In six months lather, rinse, repeat…

Geopolitical expert William Teach assures us that if the West gives Ukraine to Putin, there is no possibility that Russia will invade Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Moldova. to start. Finland and Sweden believed that they were safe from Russia but Finland with their lengthy Russian border joined NATO, and Sweden will soon enough.

The Russian economy depends on exports of oil, natural gas and arms, being the globes 3rd largest supplier of arms (hint: they are not arming NATO nations!). They sell to Southeast Asia and the Asia-Pacific region – 43 percent and the Near and Middle East, together with North Africa. Russia and Iran are cementing a deal to supply Iran with Su-35 fighter jets.

China and India buy up most of Russia’s crude oil, and the EU is the biggest buyer of Russian LNG!! China is the biggest purchaser of Russian coal.

  6. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Can any of the Putin-Americans here propose a credible reason for Russia to have invaded the sovereign nation of Ukraine?

We know, we know… Nazis!! Free the resident Russians!! Ukraine would go NATO, becoming a staging area for a NATO invasion!! Persecution of Christians!! Corruption!! Ukraine incursions into Russia!! Putin DID fear that he wouldn’t be able to control Ukraine as a Western democracy.

The Russian dictator Putin has proven himself to be a liar, murderer and monster. Tens of thousands of Ukrainian civilians have been killed. Millions of Ukrainians have been displaced.

Putin-Americans forget that Putin invaded Ukraine because he thought he could overwhelm in weeks. He thought Ukraine was easy pickings. He has counted on and received the support of the the American right-wing (nuGOP, Trumpists, MAGAts). Putin wanted Ukraine’s resources, territory and technology. And Putin-Americans (nuGOP) were happy to give Ukraine to Putin.

Maybe someone should explain to Karen (aka Rimjob) the reason why Russia is now at war in Ukraine.

Didn’t happen when Trump was President.

Yes, according to our lib friends Trump liked Russia so much that he didn’t allow them to invade Ukraine. Wrap your around that “logic”.

  8. Professor Hale says:

Sources say there are a large number of Bradley Fighting Vehicles on trailers on the border of Poland, just waiting for permission to move into Ukraine. Evidently, the Biden administration was going to give Ukraine Billions in equipment no matter what congress did. It’s all just theater. US taxpayers are going to pay the bill no matter what the people want.

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

      The American “people” support Ukraine.

It’s the American MAGAts that support Russian hegemony. Now, even King MAGAt has his finger in the air trying to figure out which way the conservative voter wind is blowing. He’s doing the same thing with abortion. It’s all just theater.

So why would Bradleys and other weapons be at the ready? So as not to waste valuable time in resupplying the Ukrainians the minute the $61 BILLION is approved by the Senate and signed by the President.

Never forget. American MAGAts consider Putin and Russia as American allies and Ukraine as a Nazi stronghold. Like Dear Leader’s attorneys, the MAGAts realize that delay, delay, delay is their friend.
