Wild: Rabbi Tells Jewish Students At Columbia U To Go Home, It’s Not Safe

Isn’t it rather the job of Columbia U to safeguard the students from threats as much as possible, especially when the threats are public?

Rabbi to Jewish Columbia students amid rallies: Campus not safe, go home

A rabbi at Columbia University on Sunday morning called on Jewish students to go home until the campus was safe after days of anti-Israel protests in which protesters called for further October 7 Massacres, claimed membership with Hamas, and expressed support for terrorism.

Orthodox Union Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus director rabbi Elie Buechler told students that the protests that had unfolded since Wednesday “have made it clear that Columbia University’s Public Safety and the NYPD cannot guarantee Jewish students’ safety in the face of extreme antisemitism and anarchy.”

“It deeply pains me to say that I would strongly recommend you return home as soon as possible and remain home until the reality in and around campus has dramatically improved,” Buechler told Jewish students in leaked text messages. “It is not our job as Jews to ensure our own safety on campus. No one should have to endure this level of hatred, let alone at school.”

This is beyond disturbing. This is the United States Of America, and Jewish students are being advised to go home to be safe. It sounds more like Europe in the 1930’s with the rise of Hitler, where many Jews decided to head to England, Canada, and America. And I’m not sure they can depend on NYC or the mayor

New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Sunday condemned extremist slogans chanted during ongoing protests at Columbia University and pledged that “the [New York Police Department] will not hesitate to arrest anyone who is found to be breaking the law.”

“I am horrified and disgusted with the antisemitism being spewed at and around the Columbia University campus,” the Mayor said, citing “the example of a young woman holding a sign with an arrow pointing to Jewish students stating ‘Al-Qasam’s Next Targets,’ or another where a woman is literally yelling ‘We are Hamas,’ or another where groups of students are chanting ‘We don’t want no Zionists here'”.

“I condemn this hate speech in the strongest of terms,” Adams said. “Supporting a terrorist organization that aims is to kill Jews is sickening and despicable.”

But, he notes that Columbia is a private institution on private property, so, the NYPD cannot just come in to safeguard unless the university asks for security. Can students call the NYPD when they’ve been threatened or assaulted? Should be able to.

And what is Columbia really doing? They cleared out one tent city protest, and, another is going up. Some students were suspended a couple weeks ago, and around 100 the other day after they were arrested. But, are any being expelled? Will the charges stick for those arrested, or, will the school refuse to press charges? That is, if the Leftists in the NYC prosecutors office do not refuse to hold the students to charges in the first place.

Are Jews finally realizing that the Democratic Party is not their friend? That it is chock full of people who hate Israel, hate Jews, and support Islamic extremists and Islamic terrorist groups?

Although protest is protected in the US, hate-speech and threats are not. Columbia and NYC should make it clear that hate-speech and threats will be dealt with aggressively.

William Teach, showing his compassion for the Jewish students, concluded: Are Jews finally realizing that the Democratic Party is not their friend?

Mr Teach failed to note that pro-Hamas protesters ALSO dislike/hate Democratic politicians, including President Biden. It was in all the papers.

They’re busy prosecuting little old ladies for visiting DC, protecting abortion shops, and harassing peaceful Christians. Can’t bother with domestic(?) terrorists.

And yet all of those protesters used to be Democrats go figure. And I’d like to ask you who you think all these pro-Hamas protesters that hate Democrats are gonna be voting for? Trump? Democrats like communists, Nazis and Muslims never change their spots. In fact they’re all interchangeable and they all represent one thing: single party power.
