Judge Merchan has just allowed evidence from meetings between David Pecker (Inquirer), Cohen and Trump discussing the Karen McDougal affair catch and kill payments and about planted stories regarding Trump primary opponents.
Paying hush money to a porn star to cover up an affair is not a crime. Cooking your books to cover up the payments are misdemeanors. It’s a potential felony to do these things to interfere with an election. Trump wanted to suppress the exposure of his purported affairs with Ms Daniels and Ms McDougal until after the election.
Trump associates Michael Cohen and Allen Weisselberg have already served time.
