James and Jennifer Crumbley were sentenced to 10-15 years in prison for buying their 15 year-old, mentally ill son, Ethan, a 9mm Sig Sauer semi-auto pistol. Four days later Ethan went to school and killed 4 students and injured 7 others, including a teacher. Ethan was captured, tried and sentenced to life in prison. His parents fled and were later arrested.
OK Elwood so what’s your point? Are you trying to point out that some parents are freaking morons? Well we all know that we also have parents that do sex change operations to their eight-year old children. So obviously we know that some parents are idiots and shouldn’t have children at all or is that your point you wanna board all children?

His point is that in Democratic party controlled areas, people can be criminally charged with offenses committed by other people, without their knowledge or consent. At least if a gun is involved. But not for murders committed by black people against each other. No other parents in Michigan history have been charged with the crimes of their children. This will likely be overturned on appeal, if these people can afford one. The elements of the crime were not met since the parents were not present at the murder scene, did not cause the murder, and had no knowledge of it before hand. But then, in Democrat controlled areas of America, the rule of law is whatever they say it is and the process is the punishment, even if later overturned. The legislature passed a statute on what is means to commit manslaughter and this case does not fit. The point of this trial, as confirmed by the lobbyists from AnyTown, punish people for owning guns.

A society that has refused to regulate guns is now punishing parents for not doing so on their own at home.
The commenter is likely correct that the negligent Crumbleys will win on appeal. After all, they did not break any Michigan laws in giving a deadly weapon to their son and in ignoring the red flags.

My point was to get your opinions on holding parents culpable for giving their crazy teen a deadly weapon. It has nothing to do with parents making a child have a sex change operation at 8 years old, which doesn’t happen.

Another commenter, an apparent psychic, objected to prosecuting the parents in this case and immediately considers it a political and racial issue. That commenter is only troubled because it was white parents and dealt with a gun. Guns don’t kill people, kids with guns kill people. Certainly the case opens a can-o-worms by holding the parents responsible for aiding and abetting the mass shooting. This will no doubt give prosecutors a tool for prosecuting Black parents for violent crimes committed by their boys.

Kari Lake, the lovely Arizona MAGA Republican candidate for Senate, speaking yesterday: “I have traveled to every corner of this state on the campaign trail. I speak to more Arizonans than anyone and it is abundantly clear that the pre-statehood law is out of step with Arizonans.”
Lake’s statement came soon after the Arizona Supreme Court ruled that the 1864 law, which mandates two to five years in prison for anyone who aids in abortion, was enforceable. Arizona became a state in 1912.
But back in June 2022, Kari Lake, then MAGA Republican candidate for AZ governor: “I’m incredibly thrilled that we are going to have a great law that’s already on the books. It will prohibit abortion in Arizona except to save the life of a mother. And I think we’re going to be paving the way and setting course for other states to follow.”

Republican extremists are tied in knots over abortion. The extremists favor an 1864 law that bans all abortions except to save the life of a pregnant woman, but voters don’t. What’s a MAGA to do? Note what Mr Trump and Ms Lake have done. They’ve changed their extremist positions to garner votes.
Extremists consider any intentional interruption of a pregnancy from the moment of conception to be 1st degree murder.
Now the MAGA extremists are face-to-face with the reality of elections and are compromising.
