Your Fault: Hotcoldwetdry Will Bring Megafloods To California

It’s pretty easy to make this prognostication after California has been hit with a few huge rain event storms. It’s funny, though, because not that long ago we got

That last one was from 2022

Climate change will bring megafloods to California

Climate change is making it a matter of time before a megaflood hits the state.

The Santa Barbara police car blocked access to the bridge, lights flashing as the thundering, swollen brown river rampaged below. The water was running so high in this Southern California county that it gushed through the railings of the bridge, and poured out onto the road.

This region is familiar with water scarcity – usually battling extreme heatwaveswildfires, and drought. Now, Southern California is confronting an overabundance of water, in the form of torrential rain and life-threatening floods. (snip)

And experts say that the frequency and intensity of these kinds of events will only increase. These severe floods in California are a “broadly underappreciated risk”, according to a 2022 paper, co-authored by Daniel Swain and Xingying Huang, scientists at the National Centre for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado. (snip)

Climate change is increasing the risk of a California megaflood, Swain’s study warns. This extreme storm scenario would produce runoffs 200-400% greater than anything seen before in the Sierra Nevada, the sprawling 400-mile (650km) mountain range that traverses 24 of the 58 counties in California.

California does, in fact, have a long history of flood years, with a record going back to 1605 (that was during the Little Ice Age), just like with drought years. It’s the nature of where it is located on the Pacific Ocean. There was nothing anthropogenic about that 1605 flooding, right? That had 45 days of flooding in December 1861-January 1862. It’s just nature. You’re making it more dangerous now because of land use. All those buildings and roads.

But, as they start blaming the flooding on you, will it now flip back to drought, which they will also blame on you?

Its called the Pineapple Express and it has been doing this for centuries. Odd that a previously known weather phenomenon is classified as being the result of climate change. What a Crock of SHIT

    It’s Black History Month, Y’all!!

Once again, this is a wonderful opportunity to pause for a moment and give thanks for the great contributions of the black community to our society.

Their peaceful and generous nature make them ideal neighbors, lending testimony to their exceptional family values and parenting skills—unrivaled by any other culture.

Their commitment to academic excellence enriches our schools and serves as an example to all who hope to achieve prominence as a people.

Real estate values are fueled by the influx of African Americans into an area due to their caring and respectful nature of these communities, an example of all they have achieved through their enthusiasm for self improvement by hard work and a self-reliant nature.

Without their industrious and creative drive, we would be poorer as a nation. They have enriched us as a nation and we should make every month Black History Moth to show our appreciation. LOL

AGW is not flying. It will never fly.

The problem with AGW is that a vast majority of the world who will unleash massive amounts of CO2 are POOR and they will never agree to go hungry to save a few molecules of CO2 from going into the atmosphere. They sorta would rather eat and not die today then save future generations of ELITES living in the USA, EU and other places.

Hence the powers that be are now in a tizzy to take over the world’s supply of FOOD including Russia who wants to make sure they have the grain supply of Ukraine so it does not make it to the free markets without their control.

War on Animals continues unabated as does China’s buying spree of food processing plants around the world.

Why do you think that is? Simply put the powers know that AGW is not going to work but owning the world’s means of feeding the people will.

Hence….eat bugs people. Veggie burgers. Cows fart methane. PETA hates farmers and ranchers….etc….ad nauseam.

It is why Biden and his progressive whackos want to go to war. AGAIN….because this war will interrupt 17 percent of the world’s shipping and they cannot have RUSSIA owning Ukraine grain because they WANT IT FOR THEMSELVES….that way they can control the world’s food and force people to kow tow to their demands.

In other words us. The little guys are FUBAR……so eat more BEEF, CHICKiN, and HOGS cuz you aint gonna be eatin it in 10 years.

That’s not a conspiracy it is the facts.

I imagine we’re just going to sit around and wait for things to become critical before we finally grab our guns and go out and stop these people. I do hope the world calls me when they’re ready to wake up. I’m 43 now I don’t have long to go where I can fight. I was in a fire the other day with another fireman and we had to carry a woman and a girl out I’m a flaming building and I was exhausted. Ain’t getting any younger.

Good question. When to start the revolution?

But really, it takes little effort to pull the trigger on your AR-15s. On your side now are the Islamists of the US who are pissed at Biden and the Dems. They can help you bomb airliners, nuclear facilities, power stations, bridges, dams and other infrastructure!

Listen, if the Dems screwed Trump over in 2020, they will do it again in 2024, so what are you waiting for? Wolverines! Of course, the US military, at least at the top, will not tolerate a revolution and your AR-15s are no match for the attack helicopters, tanks etc. BUT, if 50 million patriots grabbed their AR-15s tomorrow and overwhelmed the governments, who knows what would happen! The govt couldn’t even defend the US Capitol from a few thousand patriots armed only with bear spray and flag poles!!

Your long-term hope if for DJT to get reelected and get rid of all the wimpy and woke generals and admirals so the military will be in line with you. He will realign the DOJ, FBI and US Attorneys to your way of thinking. The hazard is if the 2024 election is stolen from you and him.

Trump was pretty open about what he wanted around Jan 6, but has been less “insurrectionisty” lately.

      • Jl says:

True-because he was never “insurrectionist” at all.

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Then-president Trump DID try to overturn the 2020 Presidential election that he clearly lost. He absolutely attempted to prevent the peaceful transfer of power, all based on a lie.

Do you not believe that the attempts to overturn the election qualify as an insurrection? Fair enough.

Trump’s lawyer today before the Supreme Court was very effective, rare for a Trump attorney! The justices seemed especially concerned that a single state could remove a candidate resulting in chaos, arguing that the potential outcome of a Constitutional amendment was more important than the text!!

So much for Originalism!! This Supreme Court believes in a Living Constitution! Occasionally, LOL.

  5. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Teach is concerned that “they” predict both floods AND droughts!

Averages are interesting statistics, aren’t they.

Lets’s say an area receives 36 inches precipitation in a year. If it gets 3 inches per month that’s cool, few floods, few droughts. But if the area gets 36 in February and none the rest of the year, that’s a problem!! Floods and drought in the same area in the same year!

I think we all agree that floods and droughts are both troubling.

During springtime in the southern Missouri hills we get the occasional gully-washer or toad-strangler – 8 or 10 in downpours in a few hours. The creeks and small rivers briefly jump their banks but folks have adjusted by not living in the flood area. July and August are dry and can be tough on crops.

The standard deviation is important! An average of 3.0 +/- 0.0 is more predictable than 3.0 +/- 10.4
