The most important thing: Army beat Navy 20-17 yesterday.
And what a game it was!!
I thought it was a horrible game; Army seemingly couldn’t do anything on offense, and I was stunned that Coach Jeff Monken had changed the offense as much as he had, playing two quarterbacks at once at points. The fullback was rarely used. That first touchdown was a fluke, on a blocked punt.
Then, when they came out for the second half, the offense started to hit its stride . . . until not one but two botched snaps.
Army’s defense was stout, and that saved the game for them. Navy moved up and down the field, but couldn’t convert at the end. The strip of the Navy ballcarrier at the goal line in overtime was a miracle.
