A serious problem facing the US (and most other advanced nations) is the decline in birth rates.
Since the current alignment of our economic system hardly allows for one working-class parent to support a family’s needs, should the US subsidize children? Should we pay a parent to stay home with a child? This would also cut the abortion rate using market forces rather than by government fiat.
Why is this a serious problem? Declining populations is the only sustainable solution for all those crises like starvation, migration, war, scarcity, and famine. Plus, the USA is solving this problem by importing cheap substitutes from other countries… as many as we want.

A jury has found Alex Jones liable for defaming the families of the Sandy Hook massacre.
Jones’ followers threatened the families, even threatening to dig up the coffins of the children to prove the massacre was a hoax.
Jones and his corporation (Free Speech Systems LLC d.b.a as Infowars!), and insurance(?) have been ordered to pay some $1 billion to the families.
Free Speech Systems LLC filed for bankrupty in July 2022, during the first trial, where he was ordered to pay about $49 million to a Sandy Hook family.
I guess rich men have lost their free speech rights. Jones’ lawyer called this a dark day for free speech!

While Jones had it coming, the idea of a Billion dollar judgement for libel is ridiculous. I don’t see how any jury has the power to lay that large of a judgement. If they can award that much, on a company that is already technically bankrupt, why don’t they go for broke and award a Trillion? Really, a billion for a small media company is just imaginary money. None of the plaintiffs have lost anything that was worth that much. After all, Jones didn’t actually kill their kids.
Meanwhile, all the “journalists” who perpetuated Russia-gate got awards, promotions, and the good will of their fellow democrat party activists. Think Trump will get a billion from CNN, NY Times and Washington Post? Unarguably, the harm they did is much worse.
