NYC To Go Really Soft On Crime

Oh, you though Democratic Party run cities like New York were already soft of crime? You ain’t seen nothing yet

Manhattan DA gives many misdemeanors a pass even as new mayor vows to combat growing crime

unintended consequencesManhattan’s newly sworn-in district attorney reportedly told his staff he does not intend to prosecute several crimes, including resisting arrest. At the same time New York City’s newly sworn-in mayor is pledging to crack down on surging crime.

Alvin Bragg, a former federal prosecutor sworn in as Manhattan District Attorney on Jan. 1, sent guidance to his office calling for the “decriminalization/non prosecution” for crimes including marijuana possession, turnstile jumping, trespassing, resisting arrest, interfering with an arrest and prostitution.

Additionally, the guidance says the DA’s office will “not seek carceral sentence other than for homicide” or “class B violent felony in which a deadly weapon causes serious injury, domestic violence felonies” with some exceptions in “extraordinary circumstances.”

The memo argues that “reserving incarceration for matters involving significant harm will make us safer.”

Pretrial detention, according to Bragg’s office, will only be recommended in “very serious cases.”

Bragg’s position on bail is in line with progressive district attorneys across the country, including in Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Austin, where bail and sentencing guidelines have been lowered in the name of “reform.”

It might be in line, but, goes much, much further. How many times have we seen a person released on low or no bail commit a serious crime? Will this cover rape? What about groups going around looting and stealing lots and lots of products from businesses owned by average citizens? When the people are terrorized by these groups. I’m sure you can come up with a wide range of crimes that affect average citizens.

Twitchy has the whole thread.

Two thoughts on this. First, it might make sense if the criminals were actually going to be punished in some way. Make them do a lot of community service. How about a short stint in a less than full prison camp, cleaning up and repairing roadways or something?

Second, when crime spikes like it is in, say, Killadelphia (the First Street Journal has done lots and lots of pieces on this), New Yorkers should be banned from moving out of the city. They voted for it, let them deal with the fallout. People should have to deal with the results of their votes, not escape from them. The new mayor has said he will be tough on crime, how will this help? Why would cops arrest anyone when they know nothing will happen? Why would cops continue to work for the NYPD when all the work they put in is for nothing? NYC will start looking like the Mayor Dinkins days, a dangerous craphole. So, have fun, NYC. Don’t be surprised when people do start leaving to avoid the fallout from their votes, when people refuse to visit NYC, when businesses leave.

Fascist Teach: New Yorkers should be banned from moving out of the city

Fascist Representative Marjorie Taylor Green proposed that libs who move from a Blue state to a Red state not be able to vote for some period of time.

    Do youse guys agree?

    • L.G.Brandon says:

Communist Dowd:Some doctors and Democrat politicians have proposed unvaxxed people should be denied healthcare, unemployment compensation and Social Security, all of which they paid for all their working life.

They also are depriving them of their jobs, income and social services based on a “vaccine” that neither protects them from the virus nor stops the spread. IOW, a fake vaccine. Yet people still support these communist unethical and immoral proposals.

      We bet you do.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Fascist Brandon: We can imagine that frustrated doctors triage patients. Businesses already charge smokers more for their health care company.

I haven’t heard of Democratic politicians proposing unvaxxed people to be denied unemployment and Social Security, but I could have missed it.

        I disagree with all this.

But private businesses in most US states can fire someone for any reason except for lawfully protected groups. They can fire someone for failing to be vaccinated.

        The vaccines are not fake.

        • L.G.Brandon says:

Communist Dowd: “The vaccines are not fake.”

Then why don’t they work? Why do we still have Covid mostly among the fake vaxxed? They, including you, stated for 2 years that the “vaccine” would flatten the curve, end the scamdemic, cure Covid and stop its spread. What happened? Now more Americans a DEAD under joe the child molester with tens of millions fake vaccinated than died under Trump with only about 17 million fake vaccinated. Why is that?

What will it take for you to thing logically instead of being an emotional wreck about every problem that comes up?

The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg described being shocked Wednesday when she learned she tested positive for coronavirus during the show’s break for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
During a remote appearance on the program while isolating at home, Goldberg declared that she was surprised when she received the positive test result because, according to her, she had been taking every necessary precaution to avoid contracting the virus.

That’s just it: Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner, and other city leaders, have claimed that crime has decreased in the City of Brotherly Love, but it’s easy to see why: with Mr Krasner not prosecuting crimes seriously, there’s no incentive to report a crime that won’t be punished, especially if you know the malefactor is going to be right back on the streets, and in a position to take revenge for you reporting the crime in the first place.

If a woman is raped, but she doesn’t report it, then as far as the police are concerned, no rape occurred. If someone robs a bodega, but the owner doesn’t report it, then as far as the police are concerned, no crime occurred.

But the city soared to 562 murders last year, because 100 to 300 lb of dead bone, meat and fat are hard to hide, and the bodies get found.

I have bought 7 guns in the last two years. My wife and I took the concealed carry classes. We joined a gun range and have been shooting for two years now. We aint John Wicks but we can shoot and hit what we aim at. We know the laws, how to try and talk our way out of any situation, or to simply avoid any conflict at all costs. Yes the FBI fingerprinted us and found us to be clear of past criminal activity and potential future criminal activity.

We didn’t take this course of action lightly. Or irrationally. My wife who hates guns and had never fired one her entire life was the one that suggested we do all this. She became fearful for her life, knowing that the police were being assaulted, hunted and assassinated.

We also agree that there are many bad cops with an axe to grind, but as is the case in every country in every corner of the earth. First and last your own personal safety and welfare begins with you.

Five years ago we would have never taken this action of buying guns. In fact we have been married for a long time and never even owned a gun and never felt the need to own a gun, living in the city and all. Now we think people that don’t own guns and more importantly learn how to use them and to shoot accurately are insane.

That goes for both sides of the political isle because these lunatics that rob you and try to throw you in front of moving trains dont stop and check your Political ID. Civil war is coming. DA’s that keep getting elected like this should be investigated for violating the civil rights of people they do not prosecute and return to the streets only to violate another persons civil rights.

Perhaps that would stop them from being stupid. Perhaps if their home was smashed and grabbed they would change their tune. Perhaps if their kids had to go to a public school instead of a private school under guard they would change their minds. Perhaps if their kids had to ride the subway or they or their spouse had to ride the subway they would change their minds.

America has lost its way. Heres hoping I never need my 7 guns for anything more than enjoying the shooting club I belong too now.

        From FOX2

ST. LOUIS–The city of St. Louis ended 2021 with a lower number of homicides than the previous year, a welcome development, even though the precise reason why is murky.

In 2020, the city recorded 263 homicides according to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting system. In 2021, that number fell to 195.

The peak of violent crimes in the US was in 1992. Violent crime nearly doubled from 1983 to 1992. Since 1992 there has been a dramatic drop in violent crime reaching a nadir in 2014, nearly one half of the 1992 spike. Violent crime has stayed low since with an increasing trend in 2020 and 2021.

Calm down. America today, even with the surge of homicides in 2020 and 2021, is a much less dangerous place than America in the 1980s.

Note that in 2020 and 2021 that over 800,000 Americans died from the pandemic, over 10 times the number of murdered Americans over the same time.
